Forums - Sony - LittleBigPlanet nearly complete, closed beta over Summer...

Badass. Hope my GAP status will let me into the closed beta...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.  Damn, even I think that is cute.

to the OP, incase you didn't know, the nextgen.biz link you provided directs you to a 'create a new thread' page on this site.

 The real link is here.

That emphasis on the community will also dictate the direction of LBP’s DLC. “We’ll be feeding the community our own content just as they supply it themselves – but we’ll be able to create specific stuff,” explains Smith. “The pistons and pulleys, for example, are the kind of thing only we can provide, and based on feedback from the community we can look at what they want and hopefully provide it.”

Awesome, just what I wanted to hear. There are a lot of things I'll probably want to do that won't be possible right away, but it sounds like there's a good chance it'll be possible later. (Have we seen anything about support for different gear ratios, for instance? Can the speed/torque of a rotating cog be adjusted? Basic things like this.)

Most excitingly, Media Molecule anticipates levels that act as hubs and simply point people in the direction of the best user created content: imagine a room with five doors, each one with a little screenshot and description of what’s through it. Those hubs will then become highly rated themselves and people will gain a reputation as good ‘sifters’, and become as important for the community as the creators themselves.

Interesting. So the visibility of levels won't be limited to just their score ranking. They'll be promoted in a way similar to how the web works, with levels "linking" to each other, and links from more prominent levels being more valuable. They really are going with a democratic approach to this whole thing.

Again, my wallet is going to be hurting this year with all these games...!

Looks AWESOME!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

God in gaming format.

unless something bad happens this will be the first game out of the 200+ I own to be bought on launch day

I'm going to have to find some new PSN friends to play this with me. The ones I have are too into FPS's and sports games to bother with Uncharted and Ratchet, let alone LBP.

EDIT: Is there any song as catchy as the song they play in the trailers?
