I hope you realise how narcissistic your reply makes you look like. It's like your doing your best to make people steer away from you. Why would you come to a community, if all you want to do is impose your tastes and opinions on people? There's no possible discussion to be had from that kind of mindset.

which is it? a game is for fun? or is a game only useful if its deep or not realistic?

and what does depth even mean? people would argue that CoD and battlefield are pretty deep in some ways for example

Seeing that it's you I know you wont believe it, but it was a joke.   And you get the same amount of discussion, possibly more, about having a different opinion than someone else as you do having the same, as everyone will have different opinions on what they like and don't like about whatever.  If you have the exact same opinion as someone else, what, you're just going to reiterate what the other stated before you just in different words?

Oh I agree that you get better discussion when people don't share the same opinions as you do. But that's not what you said. You said that others don't have good tastes unless they're the same as yours. Now, I'll believe that it was a joke. But considering your history, it's not really out of character for you to say something like that and be serious about it.

I can replace FPS with pretty much any other genre and say the exact same thing.

Especially JRPGs.

Where as bad FPS games sell millions easily, but only the best JRPGs sell over a million. This was his point, that people buy FPSs whether they're good or not. Not many people buy bad JRPGs.
