Forums - Gaming - Microsoft Won’t Have a Tokyo Game Show Conference This Year.

They have already given up that market. Probably smart considering Sony is struggling there and MS has no chance of beating them there. Plus judging by their Gamescom conference I don't think MS has anything new to show while Sony had to cut things from their Gamescom conference and announced they have new reveals for TGS.

Well there goes my hope for Lost Odyssey 2 :(

Then again The Last Guardian is still on vaporware status >_

I don't think I will be going to TGS this year either.

All I got to play last year was a few of games after long hours of waiting (and the LG monitors/XB1's Forza was running on were having nasty aliasing issues but at least the wait for that was only 30 minutes), and did I mention it's way too overcrowded with nerds bringing their fully-quipped DSLRs with external flash units and all just to take shots of the models *smdh*

Better invest the 3700yen (1000 ticket + 2700 transportation) on some quality game :)

As long as they are uploaded to the interwebs they are doing the world a good service =D

Also kind of disapointed in them seeing as they have a bunch of XBO xclusive games by Japaneses developers that they should be trying to sell.

I ask myself if nintendo will bring something(besides we alreadly saw at E3).

Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

...Do they usually?

Oh, definitely.  Microsoft has spent a ton of money in Japan trying to gain traction for the Xbox brand at TGS.  Most famous, of course, is Bill Gates delivering the keynote himself--and allegedly offending some Japanese by being too aggressive with his sales pitch.  They used TGS with the 360 to announce Japanese developed 'exclusives', back before we knew that those deals were timed.  They also went big with Kinect 1.0 with a keynote the year it launched, where they pushed those Japanese Kinect games they paid for, like Steel Battalion, that wierd horror game everyone's forgotten about by now, and that dragon riding game.

They also generally throw buckets of money at Japanese gaming executives by renting out hostess clubs and the like, which I assume will still take place.

Nintendo doesn't even attend TGS

Surprises me they're still trying

I was able to attend TGS last year. Microsoft had a cool Titanfall display with cool babes.

There was almost nobody in their booth trying the XB1 though, compared to long lines to try PS4.  Considering the very slow PS4 adoption, we can't expect much from XB1 sales in Japan.

Wait a minute. This means Sony is the only platform holder to have a conference at all the three big conventions!

now im sad

It's been this way for a while. MS just started doing Gamescom and was on/off with TGS. Nintendo just hates publicity though.
