Forums - Nintendo - Will a Wii U pricedrop happen this year?

Will it happen this year?

It will 11 16.67%

It won't 55 83.33%

Total:66

i always think in something: ps4 is 400$, but you have to pay 50$ more per year to play online, and also, have to buy a game you like for it, and probably you will buy other controller. But it would cost 570$. With some loss, they could sell it for 500$.
But Sony dont, because the price tag 400$ is better than 500$, a unawared consumer would take the 400$.

Nintendo sells for 330 a wii U with mario kart, a second controler, ready to play local and online multiplayer forever.
But couldnt nintendo sell wii U for 250$? + mario kart + wiimote would cost the same. But unawared consumers seeing the 250$ price tag on shelves, would be more appealing, wouldnt?

And now enter the second think. Amiibos. A wii U is needed if you want to buy a amiibo. If nintendo is betting on amiibos, is better to sell more wii Us, even with losses, because they could profit more with the figures.

I think Amiibos could sell regardless if they actually did anything, they just look really cool, nice collectibles, and Mario and Pokemon merch sells

I don't think so. It's selling at a profit and is still $100 cheaper than the competition. I agree with people saying 2015. Honestly though, I don't thing well see a price drop until after March when the investor meeting happens.

Heavy bundling will hide pricedrop. NSMB +MK8, DKC:TF + SSB, HW + B2, Pikmin + CT:TT + SM3DW.
Only hardcore gamers understand what I just wrote!

They'll dump the 8GB variants this year. Expect massive fire sales.

For the 32GB Deluxe variant? That'll happen next year.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I understand everything except CT: TT

Edit: Nvm it is captain toad

I think a very soft cut will happen this holiday. Phase out the Mario/Luigi bundle and release both games on one disk at retail, drop the Mario Kart bundle to $299 and release a Smash Bros bundle at $299.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Probably not till they have to

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Probably no pricedrop, but maybe some value-bundles

IMO they will lower the price after this fiscal year (up to April 1)

If they sell their goal this year at the current price then the Wii u hardware sales will break even due to writing off losses of leftover inventory from last year -
