Forums - Sony - So it turns out the PS4 does have software authentication...

its actually very simple to change which fingers your using for what depending on what your playing and what you want to do.  its been out 9 months and this hasnt been an issue, yet now you pop up and all your friends have issues, and you seem to be completely incapable of teaching yourself new muscle movements.  i even said at first you will go to where it used to be, but in no time your reaching to where it is, and should have no probem hitting it and telling the difference between it and the touchpad.

the game was designed and released on the ps4, with a controller layout that gives ou everything you need.  and gave you options for if you want even more controls.   what you want to do is use something that is gimped from its design.   you say the ds4 would be gimped, but it isnt, because it is designed for it.  they made the game to work on a ds4, and they included options for those more hardcore.

you cant use a ds3 on the ps4, so in what crazy world would they let you use a 360 controller when it has he same amount of player input options.   there is a reason new 3rd party controllers have to come out,  they need to match specifications so they they arent gimped in comparison.  they can have extra buttoms, and all kinds of bells and whistles,  but at the end of the day they need a base amount, and thats what the ds4 has.

You failed with your click bait DRM talk that made you look bad,  then you tried to fight about being right when you were oh so terribly wrong,  took you forever to change the title, and when you did its still pretty much click bait.  a decent thread title could have been "3rd party controller compatibility" .   you are trying to get all this attention and people to listen to how you dont like the ds4 and want to use a 360,   youve come up with crazy complaints and terrible reasons for why you think its uses havent been compelling, meanwhile you dont even own the system.   youve mentioned you havent played the majority of the games we have brought up that make good use of it,  and all you have done is mention infamous,  when you could ahve used BF4, as they dont use it at all really.

if you dont like the ds4,  wait until a 3rd party controller comes out,  like those already in production.

now im done replying to you, because no one else is really saying anything because of how out to lunch your DRM talk was, and me calling you out keeps bumping this thread up and it deserves to just die globally in the US.

I've stated a million times that I don't like 3rd party controllers. I've used several. Trust me I would love for a great third party controller to come out, it is a cheaper option, but the one thing that all 3rd part controllers have in common is that they are crap. I've used several in the past. All have been garbage. Especially the ones that try to mimic xbox controls on playstation consoles. Even if a decent one somehow did manage to come out, there is very little chance that it would be better than the xbox controller. These 3rd parties are out to make a quick buck, they use poor quality material, everything about them feels cheap and they often don't even work.

You seem to think that I've made a thread just for the sake of bashing the DS4 but I feel like I was baited into doing that by people like you more than anything else. For the life of me I will never understand some of you guys mentality. How on earth does me not liking the DS4 affect your enjoyment of it? The sensitivity of some people is astonishing.

My god, the sony defense force is really putting out their best effort here. If it were the X1 doing this, people would be calling MS out for limiting peoples options in terms of controllers and ripping them apart.

Nothing you can do unfortunately. Make a thread on the Sony page, and maybe someone will pick up on it. Otherwise, gotta hope someone will make a workaround.

Thank you. I posted this thread because I was genuinely suprised when I found this out and I hadn't seen anyone say anthing about it. It seemed more like something MS would do. The shocking thing is they are the only ones doing it. I found it curious.

It's really a pointless part of the software that only annoys the consumer. Considering how 3rd party controllers impact the market, I honestly don't understand their reasoning for it.

I don't mind using the best controller ever made

Amen

This topic doesn't make sense. And it is disrespectful when you considers people's real issue with DRM.

So...if you want to play with an Xbox Controller you might be playing on the wrong console my friend...besides the DS4 being a much better controller the Xbox controller is meant for the Xbox. Earlier you called this DRM which I see you got in trouble for since you changed the name but really..use the Xbox control on an Xbox...I don't see why it's considered a bad thing that Sony doesn't want their main competitors controller on their console

Your post makes too much sense.  He wont understand logic...

Wait a second. Controllers are considered software? And all this time I thought it was hardware.

I know! Sometimes I'm afraid to make sense on this site cause if you make sense and it doesn't coincide with what a poster or mod think then you are instantly banned

Funny how there is no thread about nintendo allowing the Xbox controllers or the Dualshocks on its systems. But Sony gets this nick picking crap. Also, isn't the DS4 more compatible with most PC rigs than the XB1 controllers?
