No. Not even close. Right now it is just the most hyped game for several reason. Next big game out before november, Playstation players who find the game very unique beause they never played Halo before and... because the game is good (not super awesomely good) and deserves some hype anyway.

Now, in november, COD will do like every year and face roll Destiny like any other FPS...

"Even after the second more important event of year, Call of Duty pre order are sucks.

22,000 pre order for XBOX ONE version...not bad but...only this version have good pre order.

For the rest: PS4 bad, X360 much bad, PS3 DOOMED isn't in chartz!!!!

And?

Destiny (PS4): 24,000, XO version: 17,000...lol"

I mentionned quite clearly that it is expected to have better pre-orders for Destiny... What is your point? (lol)

Destiny is expected to sell 15+ million by the end of the year.  Thats a pretty steep face for call of duty to roll over...

also, Destiny is super awesomely good, dont know what you are talking about...

Forecasts and predictions are their best :)
Even this super awesomely good game will not reach 15M.

The only reason would be to  not have any other great games out at the same time before november (it is after all one of the reasons I mentionned why people are so hyped right now; they are just bored and it is the only good game on their radar during this summer because it comes out in early sept.) just on Xbox One: we have Dragon Age, Halo in november, Alien, Sunset overdrive... No way people are going to get crazy for more than 2 months about an over hyped game.

But the game will sell well and I think it will actually be close to COD but it will certainly NOT disintegrate it.

It's a bit sad that Halo couldn't stay ahead of CoD on 360 though it certainly didn't suffer under the reign of CoD. But with CoD appearing to be on a decline perhaps the rise of the sci-fi shooter is upon us and Destiny can climb while CoD slips.

I think AW could be the lowest selling CoD of the modern warfare era. Though perhaps Ghosts will be that because it came out with effectively a zero install base on new gen PS/Xbox. Still CoD has clearly lost some of its major, and probably permanently so.

I agree that it wont disintegrate it like the op is saying.  They will be really close, probably, but I do think Destiny will edge out call of duty barely.  Also, you have to take into account the op isnt the best at english, he probably just used poor wording, or it could be hyperbole...

anyway, I definitely dont agree destiny is overhyped.  I was pretty meh on it when they first showing gameplay videos.  It just seemed like halo with some loot.  Which you know, isnt really bad, but i kind of just felt like it was another halo game.  I was probably going to buy it, but my hype was very low.  I kind of got halo'd out when reach was released.  Then I actually got to play the game.  Holy crap my hype level went through the roof.  The game is freaking fantastic and has become one my most anticipated games in a very long time, probably since mass effect 3.

the point being, I personally feel it deserves all the hype it is getting.  And yes, people will be going crazy for it for more than two months after it is released.  Any game that can sell almost 10 million on launch week alone is going to have some good legs, and bungie has some long term plans in place to keep thise legs goin...

They need to start resting the call of duty franchise, do a every other year approach.  There are obvious signs of franchise fatigue here.  Of course, activision likes to push these franchises into the ground, so they will just keep milking it until it runs dry and then move on to the next franchise...

If Activision had a lick of sense(which they do) they will do a job of selling a ton of both. Destinys PVP doesnt work for a percentage of FPS fans cause they dont want to hassle with PVE and other missions to get new gear. Not to mention if my experiences with the beta stick the balance of PVP isnt at the same level of a standard FPS due to the variety of weapons(common/uncommon ect) in Destiny. Destiny very likely will disintegrate Borderlands though.

I really love the Destiny fans approach that Destiny will take down COD. IF you take down COD Destiny becomes COD dumbasses.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I do notice with the latest pre-order chart, 4 weeks out and Destiny isn't seeing that exponential pre-order increase that CoD and Halo did/do. So while 600k pre order for CoD 4weeks out would mean final pre-orders over 1 million, I don't think the same will be true for Destiny.

And CoD pre-orders are a bit low right now, but i think in the 6 weeks between Destiny and CoD launch the pre-orders will be big, though maybe not huge like they used to be. CoD is on the decline, but it's still big.
It might be close this year, but next year there won't be any multiplatform competition unless TF2 comes out and builds on the solid base that Titanfall created. Though it will need a decent single player campaign to really compete, IMO.

Right now, the hardcore are all over Destiny but the casuals almost never jump on a new IP right from the start. There are going to be a LOT of people that pick up CoD from the store rather than pre-ordering it.

That being said, I know it wasn't planned, but things could not have worked out better for Destiny. They're launching at what looks to be the weakest time for CoD in several years. The throne is up for grabs.

Casuals are going to pick up what their friends play, and if those get hooked on Destiny they will buy it aswell. Destiny is getting there first and it's going to have a big launch, i don't think COD has a chance.

Are you gonna make this thread every few weeks?
