The 5th gen in general has not aged well in my view. The cost of pioneering 3D was that it was quickly rendered crude and primitive by further refinement.

Nintendo really should've just bought the rights to the film franchise for at least 10 more years IMO. That was a big mistake on their part, you don't mess with a formula that just fell into your lap like that.

Even if Rare wanted to make Perfect Dark, let them, put another team on making more Bond games. It's not like Rare wasn't allowed to make say 2 platformers (Banjo + Conker) at once.

Oh yeah, and the same holds true for early 2D games as well.
