This is one of the very reasons why many on this and other gamer centric websites, hate or say playstation gamers are the worst.
What is ironic is the gamers saying that are more obsessed with Sony and Playstation gamers than many playstation gamers are of them!

True a lot do lie, and Sony lies, they have a history of lying when it suits, I know they have misslead with sales in the past, I am frankly surprised people are trying to defend them in this area
I wont do all the work for you guys, look for yoursleves, or just remember (I know people do) if you were around back in the early PS3 era

LMAO, I did not say it, but I think certain 20 somthing of the gamers on the site were thinking that very same thing.
Right now we know that Sony is not being taken at their word right now for the numbers, which is fine and dandy. That also goes both ways also.

Obviously, the methods used for VGC tracking and estimation sort of worked last gen, but are outdated this gen, if they are consitently over and under tracking. The formulas need to be reworked.
Although, you don't have data for these 10 million sales, surely you have enough data from the last 10 months to revise the formula instead of simply adjusting to NPD or something.

So ioi, does not know how Sony came to have those numbers? Like other tracking services do not know how Vgchartz came to know how Vgchartz comes by the numbers they have? Oh ' you don't say..lmao
Look, this is the point, Sony has estimated just like all tracking service's do.
And this idea that ioi is giving to say where is the discrepancy in the tracking numbers, is pretty ironic at this point because he does not know where these numbers are and it is Vgchartz claiming they can track world wide.
While that is a 3rd party company looking in.
Sony is a 1st party looking out at other's with the projections of numbers and saying no this was not shipped this was Sold through.
so that's why they made the point of this was sold through, not just only shipped to retail, this was sold through from retail to the consumer!

You know, I have to say that I'm a little embarrassed by some users in this thread. VGC has never claimed to be 100% accurate, ioi has stated on multiple occasions that his methods are based on extrapolation and identifying trends, and now you are trying to suggest that Sony is blatantly lying about sales numbers because you take this console warz thing to heart and discredit their claim because of the discrepancy with this tracking and estimation site? That's a little shameful.
Hell, we recently had a 1000+ post thread about a single user who stood by VGC numbers, despite numerous pieces of factual evidence that proved the contrary, not because he believed VGC charts had impeccable tracking, but because it aligned with his agenda as many of you are guilty.
ioi isn't saying Sony is lying, they are saying they don't have the data.
As for those asking for the remaining 600k to be simply slot in. That will patch the wound but it won't heal the sickness. The tracking VGC had for last gen is outdated this gen, and at the very least putting the numbers in the right place as opposed to slotting in "Rest of the World" will make the tracking a whole lot better, although I would prefer a full rewrite, but I'm a perfectionist.
