Forums - Gaming - Is Rise of the Tomb Raider going to come to PS4 or is it just an Xbox one /PC exclusive.

If it was a console exclusive they would have told this proudly. Clearly it's also coming on ps4.

spencer confirmed ms wasn't publishing,..  the only guy at xbox with intergrity.

When was this?  Last bit of news on this was him announcing Microsoft is publishing Tomb Raider,  helping develop it, aadvertising, and also funding it

i had to check the full history and it was geoff who posted the not publisher thing so i guess they are publishing.

tomb raider will still be on ps4 eventually just like half of ms's other "exclusives". in the end ms position in the industry is still that of a leech and they'd still rather pay to make gamer's lives more misirable that to risk trying to built anything of their own.

I think its coming to PS4 but 6 months later. I don't think SE would be stupid enough to just give it to Xbox and avoid all their playstation fans base, and a platform with double the user base of X1 and probably gonna be close to triple X1s userbase by the end of 2015.

Just wait six months after Rise of the Tomb Raider releases. If a PS4 version isn't announced and you want it, then t he game will probably have already dropped to $20 by then on the Xbox One.

It may be like Mass Effect and come in a collection years down the road. From the outside looking in, it looks like Square Enix was on the fence of making this game after they came out and said the last Tom Raider didn't meet their expectations. Microsoft made sure it happened and I am glad they did. The last Tomb Raider was awesome and I look forward to playing this as well.

If someone refuses to give clear answers then there is probably a very good reason why.

There are other things to remember, as well, such as the fact that publishing deals can vary greatly from one to another. Even if Microsoft is publishing, there can still be a duration specified. Square or Microsoft can have an option for automatic renewal if certain conditions are met or such a provision might not be in the contract at all. It's entirely variable.

My feeling is that this is a timed deal. I can't see Microsoft paying Square for the value of the lost sales that would result from no PS4 version. Yes, Microsoft can afford it but it would be a bad investment. Now, if they bought the IP, that's a different story, but it seems like they'd announce something like that from the heavens.

The only other scenario that would make sense is if Square decided not to green-light the game but Microsoft stepped in and offered to fund/partially fund development. Again, however, it seems like they would disclose that kind of information immediately.

Of course it's coming to PS4.

The only thing confusing people is Phil's tweet since twitter has a space limit. Read the actual article he links to.

It will be on 360/XB1/PC

IMO Depends of its performance. If the game sell within Microsoft expectations, I can see it as a console exclusive, if it underperformed, it could come for the ps4.

No, the similarity, expressly stated, is to the Dead Rising deal. Currently, no one expects Dead Rising to end up on PS4.

You have it the wrong way around, there is no reason to assume the game is coming to PS4 - aside from people with no inside information but a heavy bias (eg. poster after you) hoping that it will. Could it? Sure. Is there any evidence whatsoever to indicate it will? No.

As lying PR. Not a word to be trusted, as MS keeps proving time and time again.

It is similar to Garden Warfare and will go to PS.

garden warfare was never marketet as an exclusive it always said "first on xbox"
