I wonder if some of this is from hype. Alot of people were excited about games again after last gen (myself included) In my intro I stated that I always considered myself a casual gamer. This was the first time I went online to read about gaming, I always read the monthly rags to find out info. But every now and then I go into a gamestop (it's nextdoor to the walmart) And the salesman in there is usually persuading some family that the PS4 is the best one, I still hear them talk about DRM still being a thing with the X1. But man they way they talk up the PS4 it sounds like this things cooks, and gives blow j's.
I think most casual gamers aren't seeing enough next gen games for both systems, and are feeling disenchanted. (Just my opinion)
I love playing indies alot, 1. for the price, and 2. for the new experience. But I heard a couple of stoners on a ps4 demo box playing, and talking about indies saying "I'm not dropping 400 for shit I can play on my ipad." their loss. But I think alot of people are looking at the game graphics, and are puzzled as to why some games have taken a step back, not understanding the shift this generation.
