I think a big factor is the lack of BC PS3 available. The 20 and 60 were discontinued, leaving only the 40gb.

The 40gb has done very well in America and Europe, but hasn't done very well in Japan.

Well just to go along with you on that, everytime I go into a game/electronics store they have usually have some note about the lack of PS2 BC on the 40gb PS3. e.g. They'll have a comparison chart showing the differences between the 20gb/40gb/60gb models, or there will be a little sign saying that the 40gb PS3 is unable to play PS2 games.

If the PS3 is dead in Japan, right now, then what does that make of the Xbox 360, in Japan?

Why did the Xbox 360 sell at all, in Japan?

PS3 is doing terrible in Japan right now and Sony need to do something about it. A big issue is there really aren't that many good games out for the PS3 that are attractive to the Japanese it seems ( there aren't a tonn of AAA titles out for PS3 in Others or NA but there are a lot of decent games out, enough to keep gamers busy, that's not the case in Japan...).

It's a pity because if the PS3 started to do half decent in Japan it would sell 200k units WW every week.......



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
