And guess what? It won't look much different at all than it would at 1080p.

People conveniently forget that in real life, it is extremely hard to notice a major difference between upscaled 1080p and native 1080p, as long as the game is upscaled well.

van,you better hope that this place never requires a drug test to post here. comeeeee on.... but, on the other hand, this propaganda does cause the lol's

I'm not even sure what the heck this post is.

Anyway, if you want justification, read the rest of my posts. A lot of people gush on TLOU being a visual masterpiece even when it wasn't native 1080p. Resolution is a minuscule aspect on the visual fidelity of a game.

This is coming from a hardcore PC and PS4 gamer.

IV was at 900p and then patched up

My brother started playing it when we got the PS4 and the PSN was down, so no day 1 patch. It looked decent

I played it after the day 1 patch had arrived. It looked a lot better

I'll be pretty disappointed if I lose my lovely 1080p. I know it can look the same upscaled, but frankly I play on a 100" projector screen, I know I'll notice

Of course you notice. I have a 23' and I see the difference.

Honestly this was expected to happen. Lets be honest here X1 and PS4 are the equivalent of mid range PCs at best. I expect the whole 1080p thing to die down in the next couple years as the switch goes to higher framerate and more stuff happening on screen. There is a reason why publishers said they expect this to be around a 5 year console life.

Isn't this really a non-issue? The game will look amazing, native 1080p or up scaled, and 95% of all people wouldn't notice a difference. If the lower resolution give us better frame rate, draw distance and details, go for it I say!

So be it.

A 900p upscaled to 1080p is perfectly fine in my book as long as it allows devs to make the game better in other ways. Too many people are caught up in miniscule resolution details.

If you have some insanely great eyes that can make out the minute differences in every game, good for you. Most people don't. Most people in this thread probably haven't even played a One for any decent amount of time to tell how the games look in comparison.

There is no excuse. I'm playing right now Metal Gear Solid V GZ on PS4. It's 1080p and 60fps. It's looks perfect.

Image quality is a massive difference maker. High resolutions and good AA is incredibly important to me.

And the myth no one can see the difference in resolutions needs to stop. Once your eyes are accustomed to 1080p and higher resolutions anything less, especially a massive difference like 720p, is instantly noticable. It doesnt take a crazy eye for detail.
