Oh Really? I think your comparing 3DS version to WiiU and thats where many are basing that off of.

If SSBU hits at least over 4mil lifetime it be very successful. I think its still going to do 5mil-6mil lifetime. For reference 7mil were sold on GCN (22Mil) and that was a launch game

that is exacly the problem. I really do believe Smash U will do 4-5mil lifetime. But if it was exclusive I'm sure it could sell more than Melee. Even you can't denial this

New Super Luigi U was limited edition for Year of Luigi so that makes sense. Wonderful 101 was due to poor sales.

300k is alot for Smash, hope they sell it all..

nice

I don't necessarily agree with that.  I think the 3DS version could actualy increase desire for the Wii U version if they interact properly and contain enough unique features.

But, even if you're right, why is that bad?

It will sell more and generate more revenue as a multiconsole release.  More money for Nintendo.  More people can play Smash.  I can play Smash Bros on my commute.  Seems like a win win win.

i think 3ds will be top selling version, even though wii u will be probably the best smash game all time

Anybody else think we will see the New Super Mario Bros+Luigi U have a retail release?

I disagree, look at all the franchises that are both on wiiu + 3ds (NSMB2/NSMBU+SM3DL/SM3DW+MK7/MK8). Are you telling me te HH versions killed the Console version in sales as well?

Also agree with JWeinCom  to you. Its much better this way for a number of reasons.

Lastly Your not looking at the whole picture. SSBM was a launch title and did 7mil on a 22mil Console. WiiU will do 15-18mil lifetime. 5mil is great. I dont get why its not and 3DS overall wont affect it, but actually can promote it.

3DS is an unfair comparison for this main reason too. SSB is a huge Multiplayer game, each one of the sales the console versions did in the past was for 1 game for every 1-4 players. This time on 3DS everybody will need their own copy. Ex: i own every ssb game,so thats 1 per title, but for 3DS i need to get 3 copies (1 for myself, my brother and sister). Thats 1copy (wiiu) vs 3copies (3DS) already :)

Maybe, it sounds like a good idea down the road. Nintendo said the retail release of NSLU was exclusive to the Year of Luigi though.

Yep.

I think if and when they phase out the bundle they will release this, adds value and can potentially extend the legs of the games.

300k just for France? That seems really high.
Seems like Smash Bros. 3DS wont have problems to sell a huge amount.
Lets see if that has an impact on the Wii U Version...
