Forums - Gaming - New Details Emerge on EA Access' Game Selection and Trials

early access has no value to me at all.

"New game additions will be determined by franchise and timing...there's no template, like 30 days after a game ships it goes into the Vault."

..basically means it's up to their discretion which means we'll add it to the vault once it has no value at retail anymore.   maybe support of the valut is good, maybe it's not.  without a firm committment on EA's part about how many and how often games are added i wouldn't put my money down on the service in advance.  i would wait and see how well they support it because the 4 games they've commited to don't add up to $30 in value to me.  i just really hate sportz games though and i just get the feeling that sports games will be the lion's share of what get's added to the vault.

Awesome!!! It's still out of my mind why Sony thinks that this is not a good offer for the PlayStation community!!! I believe Sony just want to do their own much overpriced PS Now without any competition so that PlayStation consumer has no choice than PS Now!!!

So they aren't taking games out. Awesome.

I already own 3 of the 4 games in the vault. When it gets more games I am going to sign up. Service is a ridiculous value.

None of this is new.....

Maybe for you. A lot of the complainers assumed EA would remove games from the vault from time to time or understood the early access as demo games.
And honestly EA never clarified that.

Apparently its in the TOS that's why it has been questioned (although I don't think they ever will):

EA reserves the right to change and update the EA Access Services, and the EA Content offered through the EA Access Services without any liability to you. In particular, Vault Titles are subject to change and may be removed, and the online services for certain Vault Titles may be discontinued. In the event that EA changes the EA Access Services, including the removal of Vault Titles or discontinuation of online services for certain Vault Titles, we will provide thirty (30) days advance notice to you by posting a notice onhttp://www.ea.com/eaaccess.

Moore also reiterated that EA has no plans to remove games from The Vault.

Since we have no idea on pricing for ps now we simply don't know. Also the pricing in ps now is not set in stone and is a fair price considering the prices you pay to rent games locally.

We also have a good shot at getting EA games via ps+ and now no chance on games with gold. I know I can't stop people from pissing and moaning about prices but maybe wait until sony sets the prices and finalizes everything.

EA access so far sounds awesome. Playing games early will be great.

Yep sounds awesome. Although I wonder how it will work if you buy the games. The early access trial is just for a short time to try the game, but if you like it and decide to buy it will you then get the full game with no time restrictions early as well?

hmm, that's a good point. I doubt it will work like that though. I also wonder if your progress in the free trial will be carried over if you choose to buy the full game. I would hate to put a lot of effort into a free trial and see none of it counted.

This part of the deal is actualy several years old already. I have been using it 2-3 years already, although it was just for Madden, NHL and FIFA, and it was $20 per year for that and some Ultimate Team packs.

Basically, you are given access to select game modes (usually single player only), and you can unlock achievements, although they stay locked until you purchase a retail version. And then they all pop at once.

In previous years, Early Access work transferred even when you purchased retail discs later, not only digital, don't know if it's still like that.

Oh if its been done before then I'm sure this work like that too.

Also many achievements popping all at once sound awesome!

Rarely do you find something that sounds to good to be true. This just seems so insanely awesome, I am a definite subscriber.
