Yesterday several media outlets reported about a PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection allegedly “leaked” by Amazon, prompted by a post on NeoGAF. Today Microsoft Studios Global Product Marketing Manager Aaron Greenberg explained on Twitter that it’s just a listing mistake made by retailers:

Greenberg also mentioned that he’s visiting Microsoft’s first party studios in the UK, and that “numerous” games are in the works there.

Unfortunately for PC gamers, we’re back to square one for Halo, and I’m not sure how likely it is for the main chapters of the franchise to ever return to Windows (probably not too likely).
On the other hand, I can’t be more excited to hear about some of the new projects in the works at Rare and Lionhead. Gamescom is coming, and Microsoft may very well have some surprises for us to bite on.
So hopefully this will put an end to those PC rumors...
