They give away digital codes because they are giving all those games for free. So it only costs them what they need to pay EA for the privilege. Giving away discs is just spending more money needlessly.
If they decide to give away MCC for free, which is very likely, it will also be a code.

I'm a simple man, I'll take the more convinent option each time. Don't have to worry about scratches on digital games, you can have them stored on the console to play whenever you want, and you can have a copy on multiple systems. Also digital sales are amazing.
Also, I've never had a license taken away. And you don't own the game when you buy physical either. Just the disc it is stored on. Ever read the EULA for just about any game? You can easily have your right to play the game taken away.
It doesn't happen, but it almost never happens with digital either

What is that crazy ass plug on the left? My OG Xbox just has a bog standard powercable.

The Sunset Overdrive bundle is really tempting but the price is the big question. I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
