I like prof's plan for the night, for the record. Padib's isn't too bad either, but I agree that prof's is more versatile.

The usual call came in and Officer Erin was once again on her way.  Her informant told her the mob was more sure than ever about their decision this time.  From what she was told, the victim this time seemed like an ordinary guy.  He was no one special or so he claimed.  The mob saw it differently though.  They apparently knew who he was and, more importantly, what he was.  He had gotten away with his "I'm no one special" act long enough.

Officer Erin arrived at the scene to find everyone long gone.  Just a single body swinging in the cool evening wind.  She ran a background check on this guy.  He had a record of axe'ing people painful questions, but he had never run afoul of the law.  As the report came across the line, Officer Erin sighed.  Another innocent bystander had bit the dust.

The next few nights and days seemed to pass in a blur.  Nolan was found dead in his home and Shiida was hung the following day.  Pent never saw the arrow that pierced his heart, but his final moments were the most painful for many reasons.  On what would be the final day, Rolf looked around and saw no friends in the crowd.  His death would mark the end of the lynchings but dark times were ahead for the town.

In the aftermath, only four still stood.  Prince Lyon and his harem of Aversa, Sonia, and Louise, Pent's former wife.  They owned the town and there was no one left to stop them.

Through it all Officer Erin watched with sad eyes.  Something had gone very wrong.  Mistakes had been made and many innocent lives had been lost.  She only hoped that--

"Hey!" a voice called out, "hey, what are you still doing here?"  Robin looked up at Chrom as he stood in the entry way of the tent holding the flap.  Robin blinked a few times and held up a hand to block the sunlight streaming.  "I thought I'd let you sleep in, but I didn't think you sleep this late!"

"Oh Chrom, I had just had the worst dream." said Robin while moving to sit up.  "Our troops were without us for less than 2 months and they begain lynching each other and the villains all won."

"Huh.  Guess that just means they need us around afterall.  Now come on.  If you sleep-in all day that just might happen," replied the Ylissian lord.  Robin just gives him a sour expression.
