I also watch season 1 and 2 of Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront). The first episode got me hooked, I have never heard of the anime before and not many people really talk about it. So after the first episode I was surprised. I preferred the first season as it focused on the characters I care about most like Klaus and Zapp. Klaus being the BA and Zapp is one of the most hilarious characters. However I was hoping for a more confined season, so 2 straight seasons of episodic nature made it difficult for me to marathon it. The 2nd season had more variation in its episodes focusing on many characters. Either way I was big fan of this show's atmosphere, an urban battlefield with aliens, monsters, and super humans. The OP songs and the ED songs were all pretty decent that I listened to them, however the actual OST takes the gold medal in the music department, especially the song below.

I thought both seasons were really well done, and the characters and humor were really contagious. It's a pretty cool setting, really abstract and weird but a ton of fun too. Dunno what the western fanbase thinks of it, but I read it was pretty popular in Japan, apparently season 1 had really good DVD/BR sales.

I was disappointed that Beyond (S2) was basically just autoconclusive stories with no semblance of a main plot anymore. I actually really liked White's story in season 1...though apparently that was anime-original. Makes me wonder if the actual manga is a random comedy that BONES tried to sneak a story into.

Have you watched Bungo Stray Dogs? It's not nearly as random, but the absurdist super-team and plot-setup reminded me a lot of Kekkai.

Yes and Beyond was rated higher on myanimelist, which I didn't understand. But I suppose it dropped a lot of watchers and only fans continued to watch it.

I watched season 1 of Bungo Stray Dogs, might be awhile until I see Season 2. Though you already told me it gets even better :).

The Ancient Magus' Bride is likely next or Violet Evergarden.

What's the name of the woman?

*steals poko's glory*

Ayami Nakajou. Apparently she was the lead in the Fatal Frame movie, and is also supposed to play Iroha (main girl) in the 3D Kanojo movie. Don't really watch Japanese live action stuff, but she's a cutie.

Oh shoot, I do remember that conversation. I guess my old man brain is catching up with me.

Have fun, backlog brother. I was originally planning to watch Maid-Dragon this weekend since I have 3 days off...but instead I've just been reading KimiUso fanfiction. Still hurting. *rocks back and forth*

Oh oh ... guys ... I finished Hunter x Hunter (2011) ,'0-0', After having witnessed such a magnificient classic shonen, I don't think I'll be able to find something that can even rival it ...

At least, it gives me time to go back to my seasonal watching and come back on everything I missed this season thus far !

Also, my answer to the poll was the Real World setting that is non-school focused since it's more grounded with our reality though a good mix of plenty of settings can always work ;)

Black Clover is becoming a strong rival to or better than many anime within that genre. It's making up for boruto.

I voted for Isekai, even though I dislike almost all of the modern Isekai shows (stupid MMOs first ruining Warcraft and now anime) but shows like Inu Yasha and more recently Flip Flappers and of course spirited away are among my favourit animes.

Myanimelist is ALIVE!

Also Hisone to Masotan is still quite awesome. Heading straight to a 9/10 for now.

Huzzah! Just long enough to transfer my list to Kitsu.

...ah who am I kidding I'm not going anywhere.

How's everyone's season wrapping up? Any changes from a few weeks ago? Have your likely AOTS decided?

Biggest surprise for me is probably Hinamatsuri at this point, every episode is just fun to watch. I almost forgot it was about psychic girls until recently. 3D Kanojo is annoying me but I'll probably finish it since I'm in deep enough. Not a fan of the direction it took one of the characters, and the MC is really hard to watch. He takes the dense MC character so deep that I feel uncomfortable laughing at it, like that one OCD kid in Soul Eater.

Oh right...season is coming to an end...I should start watching anime...I'll never learn.

AOTS for me will most likely be Megalobox or Uma Musume, both really enjoyable. Megalobox cause I'm a sucker for the underdog story, combine that with boxing and it reminds me a lot of my love for films like Rocky. Uma Musume is just a really nice sport anime with a good comical side with the horse girls, some aspects get annoying but overall is a very heartfelt and enjoyable ride like I expect from shows like this.

Amanchu Advance was going to be my AOTS but it has been pretty bumpy, the show's biggest strenght is the chemestry between Pikari and Teko and when they are not together, it shows how boring or uneventful the show can get. And after my three weeks hiatus from it for a supernatural arc of all things, where the main characters are nowhere to be found, it has been mixed. There has been amazing episodes, expanding on the feelings and conflicts left at season 1 for Teko and Pikari, their shyness, anxieties and insecurities, which bring up why I loved the show so much, but more than half of them have been decent to meh.

I've not been watching seasonal anime for a very long time, but in my short span this one has been one of the most surprising, for better and worse. Usually I know what I'll like and what to expect, but this season gave a very pleasant surprise and (so far) a bit of a disappointment.

The negative first. Just like the lovely person above me, amanchu was supposed to easily be my favorite show of the season. My complains are basically the same so I won't expand too much, but basically the show has diverted a lot from what made season 1 great, either by introducing characters that disrupt Pikari and Teko's relationship, or dedicating 3 episodes to an arc that has nothing to do with them. The show simply does not work if it doesn't focus on Pikari and Teko.

Now for the pleasant surprise. Comic girls is a show I didn't expect to enjoy as much and I am, of couse I knew I was gonna like it, but I never thought I would love it. It does a lot of what the typical SoL and cgdct shows do, but it has a lot of strenghts that make it stand out, particularly from the characters. There is however something very specific which ultimately is what elevated the show from very enjoyable to god I love this, but I'll save that for when the season ends.

Hinamatusuri has also been a nice surprise, but not to the extent of comic girl, mainly because so far it's everything I always wanted from a SoL spinoff of the yakuza games XD and it gets as ridiculously fun as some of the sidequests in those games.

For some reason this season has alot of anime with a filler episode in a 12 episode anime or 22 episode anime. It's really annoying.
Other than that, it's been a good season. I've watching Golden Kamuy, Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma, Dances with the Dragons, SAOA gun gale online, My Hero Academy, Record of Grancrest War, Megalobox, Katana Maidens, Star Blazers, Legend of the Galactic Hereos, Black Clover, Darling in the Franxxx, one piece, boruto the meh generation.

Watching the old seasons of Basilisk and Full Metal Panic so I can watch new stuff. I ain't bothering with highschool dxd until I buy unedited version.
