Where are you going to actually get those proper recommendations? Can't be this thread or the usual places.

I'm not really going off recommendations, I just have a long as fuck Plan to watch list (651 anime or some shit)

Besides ... I'm pretty sure if I asked you for a rec it would just be a cute girl show or a comedy .... no thanks

https://myanimelist.net/animelist/vivster?status=2&order=4&order2=0

Because my recommendations list is as closed as a grandma's legs

Been a bit lazy on multiple fronts but I have watched 2 shows recently.

Kino no Tabi (2017) was a show that I expected to not like very much. Normally episodic shows just aren't my thing, but this one was actually pretty good. Some episodes were bewildering, some episodes were quite sad, and some episodes were awesome. I didn't care much to watch the first version, so luckily any repeat episodes were my first experience. I ignored the OP and ED.

Code Realize is quite possibly the most average show I have ever watched. Aside from the ending, which I found fairly unique, the show through and through is average. I liked the gang and the girl, but the MC was very underwhelming. Maybe that is how he is different from other MCs, in that he doesn't fight well he just moves the plot forward magically. Also is interesting to consider that he is "Arsene Lupin" and a "phantom thief" as well as his goal of "stealing your heart". Sound familiar? Persona 5 vibes. Now which came first? Well the source material is also a video game visual novel that I am sure came before Persona 5, but I am not sure which was conceived first. The anime came after Persona 5, and now Persona 5 has an anime...

I remember watched the first episode of that, and tried to convince myself it was more than just female fan-service, even as more and more hot guys were being introduced, and the girl didn't do much more than react in typical viewer insert fashion.

Then I found out the source material is an otome VN targetted at girls that like bishounens. My friend still makes fun of me for trying it out without bothering to look it up.

I didn't watch it anymore than that...but I remember the animation quality being nice at least. The Persona 5 comparison is pretty funny XD

---------------------

This week's Tada-kun was surprisingly emotional, that last photo from the dad made my throat tight. Miyano's character seems dumb but is surprisingly selfless towards his friends, seems like he does those characters a lot. But ho! A love rival appears...I suppose we need this red herring or the show would get boring though.

I know it's supposed to be comedy, but the mom in 3D Kanojo might be one of my least favorite anime moms ever (bar actual antagonists anyway). How can you just assume your son is a pedophile based on nothing but hearsay? I'd like to see Inko Midoriya slap this idiot. I'm glad this particular drama is over, even though I'm already leery about adding a new love interest when the MC has a girlfriend. Eh...we'll see if it's handled well...or if that even pans out at all.

Eh it's really light on those things. I hardly notice, because it simply doesn't appeal to me. It's true I found it odd that there was 1 girl and a ton of guys ie: a reverse harem. But it doesn't act like it at all. Touken Ranbu on the other hand was completely impossible to watch. The premise sounded so interesting and then it was just weird stuff.

Wait, does this mean Persona 5 is based on Milky Holmes?

Well, no shame in that, as Milky Holmes is one of the most enjoyable anime ever.

Yeah, that kind of pissed me off.  I mean, I get it, the MC is used to being bullied by the people at school, but he should have been hurt and angry at his family for not being on his side.  I can't even imagine that.  My mom believing something like that about me would be a million times worse than if all the rest of the world turned against me.  I know they were using it as comic relief but I don't think that was the proper place for it.  I wish he'd gone off on both his mother and brother for that.  I wouldn't want to have them as family.

I like the new girl.  I'm usually against everyone and their dog falling for the MC but I think this would actually be understandable.  Still, I hope she doesn't fall for him or perhaps ends up with the cat-guy.  I'd rather not see her deal with more sadness.

Your granny needs to learn how to live a little.

Yeah she seems super nice and likable, I just want to minimize heartbreak and harem drama. I sighed a little when the MC gave her flowers without considering how she might take it. I mean...come on, how many ways can you take that.

Cat-guy would be nice...the cat ears is a little weird but eh I shouldn't judge. I'll take multiple couples over a harem if I have the choice.

------------

Speaking of multiple couples, I always get sad when I finish a new Wotakoi ep, I just want to keep watching. MC smile was nice. Mature couple has a weird relationship but it's pretty cute too.
