Been watching Re:Zero and it's so good so far. Loving it.

Around the Network

While browsing my archives, I came across two other fantastic sports anime that I'd forgotten about.

Taisho Baseball Girls - This one is more than just a sports anime.  It's about girls fighting for a measure of respect and self-determination in an era where they were supposed to do little else than look pretty and practice homemaking.  An excellent anime even if you don't care for sports anime in general.  The humor is top notch and it has a number of awesome characters.  Highly recommended.

Bamboo Blade - The story is about a kendo club that is falling apart.  The captain and the adviser both want to rescue it (for different reasons) but they really need a member who can make a difference.

Enter Tama-chan, a small and serious girl who only cares about anime.  She also grew up in a kendo dojo and is extremely skilled and talented but she has no interest in that.  Will they be able to convince her to join and help resurrect the kendo club?  Will they be able to find additional members?

Seriously, Tama-chan is one of the cutest badasses ever.

(warning: dub trailer)

It also features a beautiful sadist, for those who like that kind of thing:

The S in Blend S should stand for SUUUUPER GOOD! - I am loving all the characters personalities and the concept of their cafe. Not sure if its funnier than Aho Girl, but its really fun to watch.

I watched 2 anime movies in the cinema recently:

- The Fate stay Night Heavens Feel - The Animation is fantastic as always from Ufotable. I love the difference between this route to UBW. The sound system in the cinema was fantastic to hear especially with the awesome animation.

- No Game no life Zero - HOLY FUCK!!!! I was not expecting the prequel be any like this! It was really different to the anime. And my god! The romance brought me to tears :( Sooooo beautiful!!! This just made the anime soooo much interesting now. Me and my friend are planning to re watch it xD Madhouse or anyone better give us a 2nd season!!!!!!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Best sports anime is NOT Hajime no Ippo.

DO NOT GET INVESTED IN THIS SERIES, ANIME OR MANGA. It will only disappoint.

Deer vs. Principal

Holy buckets that was savage as cabbage. I'd totally watch an anime about competitive deer fighting.

Probably.

I find it amusing, even if the memes are out of control. I love Naho for reasons, but the manager always cracks me up. I laughed when he went to jail for screaming how much he loved dark-haired girls.

Maybe liking dark haired girls should be a felony....*shifty eyes*

Is this a reference to something that happened recently in the manga? I don't follow it, but I've heard people expressing disappointment lately.

I've had a few cases where good anime don't adapt the entire work, and I'm able to separate the two even after the source material goes in an awful direction. Not always easy though...and it's worse when the anime makes it obvious it has more to adapt.

No idea how extreme it is in this case though, if true.

So I finished all of Kuromukuro. The ending was quite interesting, and a lot different then most anime I would say. Also a lot of things did not make sense at all, but whatever its anime. It is another long series which would be impossible to do in live action and is a lot more imaginative, so I appreciate these aspects. I especially enjoy stuff about space and extra terrestrial forms, so it was great to get more media in this subject. I am glad the story is very focused so it is clearly not derived from manga or LN. Of course there are still those anime tropes that were a bit disappointing.

I really liked OP 1, at least enough to listen to it every time. However OP 2 kicked it up a notch and ED 2 was also very good. I can definitely see why Japan likes Glay so much if they often come out with nice songs like those.

One of my favorite recent OPs :D. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlR1ytMY7rA

It was a celebration of PA works anniversary and I loved that anime. Absolutely enjoyed it and the opening themes were amazing!
