Danganronpa 3 Future is going full Zero Escape with the Monokuma/Zero the 3rd voice and the new killing system similar to Zero Time Dilemma :D

And how dare they kill her right at the beginning of the game, that's awful :(

As someone who has played DR1/DR2. Do you think that despair arc is ok for someone to watch before playing DR2? I have a friend and we just finished watching DR1 and he wants to know what happens. I tell him to download DR2, which is what he will probably end up doing.

No no no no no no no no no no no !!! (it needs to be clear ^^)

The huge final twist of DR2 is told and shown in the first 30 seconds of Despair Arc and in the first minute of Future Arc (I just verified it, that timing is real). Anyone who didn't play DR2 has to run away from the anime ASAP!

Both anime series explain why the events of DR1 and DR2 happen (especially DR2), and what happens next. You need to play DR2 blindly first if you don't want the whole plot to be spoiled. Don't read the synopsis of the series or anything about it, and go play that awesome game with your friend :D The games are definitely a lot, lot better than the DR1 anime (which is pretty bad compared to the first game), and I'm a part of the fanbase thinking that DR2 is even better than the DR1 game (big usual argument between Danganronpa fans).

I've beaten DR1 and DR2 as well, I was just trying to find another show we could watch together.

Oh, I didn't understand that, OK! Then yeah, that's not this one, you're safe yourself but not your friend :( (you can watch it on your own though, it's really worth it this far!)

Maybe we can help you to find something to watch, which genre are you more interested in? In this season's series, if you haven't seen it yet, ReLIFE is pretty good for example and all the 13 episodes released at the same time (it's a slice of life with a mix of romance/drama/comedy).

I'll pretty much watch anything. I have a MyAnimeList profile in my sig that contains some of my favorites and you can sort my completed list by score. Feel free to push things higher up my priority list.

After D Gray Man Hallow episode 3 iv finally come around to the changes. It was a great episode minus a few moments of lazy art.

So after 3 episodes of Sweatness & Lightning, its really lost that initial impact the first episode had. Its a decent anime but not one of my favs of the season anymore, same for Mob and New Game!, good animes but theyre not the ones im excited for every week anymore.

Re:Zero, Planetairan & This Art Club Has A Problem are really my front runners this season, theyre brilliant in every aspect.

So now we're well into this season and i would have assume everyone has theyre list of anime theyll be continuing with. Whats your opinion on the season? has it changed since the start?

This season has a lot of ups and downs for me. A lot of good shows started, but not a lot of them that really stand out except for just a handful.  Then there's the whole Berserk mess...but I'd rather not talk about that one. Overall, I think it's a decent season, I am a little dissapointed in it, but still enjoying it for the most part. Still go re:zero and planetarian to watch too.

This season is about as mediocre as I expected. There are a few highlights though. Apart from the continuing series there is Amanchu, Amaama and Rewrite. A lot of series who are just good enough to not be dropped but so far nothing amazing.

This could be the first year since 2012 where I didn't see a 10/10. Technically Re:Zero would be it but they squandered too much. A 10 has to be amazing consistently and Re:Zero has failed multiple times in that.

I still have quite a bit of backlog so I don't watch a lot of airing animes, but the ones I'm watching are great so far: Re Zero and both Danganronpa are awesome, Mob Psycho seems promising, and ReLIFE was really fun to watch (it's from this season but already released in a single batch online). Oh, Shokugeki no Soma 2nd is also pretty good IMO, even if it's nothing new or outsanding (one more shounen basically). Didn't watch anything else yet, but it will be a satisfying season for me if these shows keep going with this quality.

O_O

And I thought that I was watching a lot of animes! Impressive list, not sure if I can really help you to find anything new ^^. Well, in your "Currently watching" list that you haven't really watched yet (or not entirely, if it's up to date), I would suggest the following ones :

Ajin (the animation is weird and sometimes pretty bad, but the show is worth it anyway),

finish Boku dake ga inai machi (of course... The ending is not that good and you can read the alternative ending in the manga, but the rest of the show is just amazing... Boku dake ga inai machi Gaiden also started as a manga to explore some things further),

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou (great romantic comedy! One of the most interesting female protagonist I've seen for this kind of anime... I suggest to read the manga after the anime though because the anime ends in the middle of nowhere),

Boku no Hero Academia (a classic shounen, basically Naruto in the One Punch Man world, but really well done),

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren (if you watched the first season, it's almost just as good),

Death Parade (weird, psychological, poetic, great show),

Gakkougurashi! (it's better if you know nothing about it, but anyway a fun mix of different genres and feelings),

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (not a shoujo at all obviously, just an awesome school comedy),

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (Konosuba, it could be kind of a hit-or-miss comedy, but as a former roleplayer I sometimes really laughed out loud because I recognized stupid situations my group has been in, great comedy if you like the first 2-3 episodes),

Nisekoi 1st season and 2nd (really depends on your tastes too, I like stupid harem animes with misunderstandings so I find this anime fun, but then hated a lot of the following parts of the manga when it tried to become more serious and dramatic),

No Game No Life (you started it, continue! Awesome show IMO),

One Punch Man (I think it lacks a bit of something like a deeper plot compared to the hype about it, but still great, a must-watch),

Prison School (mixed feelings about this one, I really hate one of the characters like I never did before and dislike a lot of the scenes she's in, but the overall series is great and original),

Samurai Champloo (a classic),

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku (2nd season, even better than the first),

Zankyou no Terror (again, it lacks a bit of something for me, maybe because I wanted even more of it, but a really good thriller nonetheless),

and Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (my biggest surprise this year, it got good scores but the synopsis looked like a stupid ecchi... I was wrong, not an ecchi at all, it's a great comedy).

You can obviously add to the list the current animes I talked about above, and maybe these ones (that I didn't find on your list): Sakurasou no pet na kanojo (romantic comedy with good loads of laughs and feels), Seitokai Yakuindomo second season and 2nd OVAS (if you liked the first one, obviously... Oh, apparently you didn't, sorry about that ^^). I hope it will help you to enjoy some series sooner :D

Thank you Versus for everything you've done with the thread, whoever is gonna be the next OP has some huge shoes to fill. You made this thread one of the reasons I frequent VGC in the first place and also you were my first real friend here. Wish you luck in whatever you choose to do after this.
