Gonna do my own backlog update too...just cuz.

I finally got around to watching Death Parade. Very..very...well animated, and an absolute feels trip for most of it. My only real complaint was its attempt at world building, which didn't really go anywhere. I feel like it would have been stronger if it focused purely on the individual cases and Chiyuki's character arc. Still...very solid anime I highly recommend.

I attempted World Trigger yesterday...and it wasn't really doing much for me. While it's true that I dislike Toei, the story and characters didn't do much to draw me in either. I feel like I've seen the setup dozens of times already, only usually handled much better. I feel like it has potential to get better later, so I'll say it's on hold until I have nothing else to watch.

Gonna watch Dagashi Kashi now...which apparently disappeared from my Crunchyroll queue while I was procrastinating. Apparently Funimation picked it up...not sure how that works, but at least I have both subs.

hmm, I assume that's supposed to suggest they only make anime of shounen manga with bad plots?

Although even if he's saying a good plot I'd still say chuck him out. We need less anime based on manga and more original stuff...

I definitely agree with that or at the very least just anime that's different. I know that netflix is taking an interest in anime. Perhaps, they'll start creating it like they did with tv shows and movies. I like most of their choice in anime.

My advice to you is to hang on until the Invasion arc. That is when you start to see its potential (then finish the anime and join me as a manga reader, it'll be nice to have someone to discuss it with)

I'm gonna rate this past week of shows that I watched from Monday through today because I don't care about proper order or episode numbers:

1) Re: Zero (ep 9)
2) Kabaneri (ep 8)
3) Bungou Stray Dogs (ep 9)
4) Asterisk Wars (ep 22 or ep 10 of season two)
5) My Hero Academia (ep 10)

Zero moved along nicely this episode, and it looks like they're finally getting ready to wrap up this arc before starting the second cour. They've drug things out a bit, so it will be nice to move forward. I hope the second cour has slightly better pacing. That said, Rem and Ram have become pretty interesting characters.

Kabaneri got a new few characters, none of them seem good in a moral sense, and the various developments are done well. This really is a relatively high quality anime this season. Not consistently the best week over week, but once the season is complete, it will probably be a memorable show.

Bungou set things up really well for what looks like it will be an awesome next episode. It has been kind of touch and go, and its efforts at humor aren't always successful, but when it tries to be serious, things get dark and violent pretty quickly in a quality fashion. It isn't simply melodramatic all of the time. At this point, I'm glad this one has a second cour coming this Fall.

My Hero Academia wasn't necessarily bad, but it continues to disappoint with magnificently awful pacing. I'm glad we could spend the whole episode on everybody talking about how they feel like they should act. It uh, it really did...something. It seriously needs a redeeming second season since so far, the show is really feeling like a 6.5 on the high end for me.

I already talked about Asterisk in a different post I'm pretty sure. Regardless, I feel the same way about it every week anyways.

Hey guys, remember Elsa and Felt and Reinhard and that special totally significant heirloom of Emilia that people got killed over?
Fuck it, let's do demon girl and hell puppies for 20 episodes!

Well I guess the anime should be on track within the next 1-2 episodes.
