I'm assuming he's focusing so much on Hinazuki because she was the first to die. Maybe after her he'll shift his attention to the 2nd victim instead.

I think his current train of thought is that if he can stop the first murder, it may stop the train of murders. That said, I think the murder of Hinazuki is meant to be a foregone conclusion and that stopping the murderer from taking the first victim isn't the goal. Rather, the goal is using the first victim to catch the murderer. It would make for an incredibly harsh reality, but considering he was sent back after his mother became a victim, it doesn't quite click that the goal is saving Hinazuki, as if it will completely stop this murderer's impulses.

The main character seems to be under the impression that stopping the first murder will break the chain and stop all the murders.  He also has been carrying a massive amount of guilt all his life over Kayo and Yuki, so I think that factors into his tunnel vision, as well.  Unfortunately, reality is seldom so simple, as I think he's about to find out.  Also, the original 'goal' of his time jump is to reverse the murder of his mother.  I assume his jump will end when that criteria is met, regardless of everything else.

Plus, Hiromi was the last child killed.  The main character probably thinks he has time before he needs to focus on him.  Hiromi is already a part of his group, as well, where he had to work hard to get close to Kayo.  He probably thinks Hiromi's murder will be the easiest to stop.

Hm...I suppose that makes sense. I didn't really consider the sequence they'd be killed in, and that stopping one might stop the chain. It does seem shortsighted though. He seems more focused on the short game currently, and not the entire reason he was sent back.

But I suppose that's part of the current conflict...and will likely be addressed given the events at the end of episode 4.

Edit:  NEVER go to the Wikipedia page for ERASED!  It spoils the entire story almost immediately.

I was strong! I went on the official english website to get the other child's name.  I've had way too many series ruined by wikis. *glares at One Piece and Shingeki no Kyojin wikis*

Sighs... the current lineup has been stale and shoujo ridden for a while... whatever happened to the glorious days of Shonen supremacy?

Are you serious ?

The vast majority of the line up is meant for teenage boys ...

Phantom World takes no chances in its pursuit of grabbing the title of worst KyoAni anime from Amagi.

Seriously, if they're not bringing the next season of K-ON soon, they're gonna be left behind like Shaft.

I dropped Phantom World after episode two or three. I got past the episode where sound chick is saved from the robo phantoms, and I just haven't gone back.

There is one other consideration about ERASED that is an unfortunate, yet common occurrence with manga-to-anime projects, and that is that the anime is moving much faster and is thus losing some of the more subtle layers of exposition.

For instance, and I think I've mentioned this before, but Kayo is shown to be more of an unpopular outcast in the manga. The alienation from her peers is more pronounced and it was harder for the main character to get close to her. The main character, for his part, spends a lot more time wondering what he should do, where in the anime he seems to have his plan in place immediately.

The differences aren't bad, and there have been manga adaptions that have suffered much worse (looking at you, Yamada and the Seven Witches) but the pace in ERASED is leaving a little bit of content out and I think people can feel that to some degree.

I just hope it ends soon. It's a good anime but I really don't want to watch it. Not even because of the drama but there is something that always makes me pick this one last when I decide what anime to watch next. Maybe it's the annoying MC.

I've recently started watching Haikyu because I watched Food wars shokugeki no soma and liked it. I also needed something to watch while waiting for the weekly new episodes of ongoing anime. I don't normally care for the slice of life genre but I liked it. That's actually kinda surprising to me.

Haikyu is one of my favorite sports anime. It captures passion and drama very well as the team learns, grows, and suffers. I caught up to it back in December and have been watching it week by week since. Completely worth it.
