On another note.... WOW!

Just absolute WOW!

I just finished Houkago no Pleiades. This is one of the most overlooked animes ever and all because its attachment to a certain brand. I know many people dismissed it from the getgo but I urge you to give it a chance.

While the show has one of the most generic premises and cookie cutter characters it is actually a monument of what anime can be. You might think it's just a glorified car commercial but it's so much more.
The production values are top notch. Animation, music, cgi, everything is on a very high level you won't see in many animes.

The show is a magical girl show to its core but the subject matter is actually deeply rooted in science. Everyone with the slightest appreciation for the science of space and stars will be delighted by it. It ranges from simple astronomy to astrophysics and cosmology. Relativity theory, the solar system and even the birth of the earth are being touched on with high scientific accuracy. It's not a stretch to say that if Neil deGrasse Tyson had a favorite anime, this would be it.
The sceneries are beautiful and it's underlined with a perfect score. The plot is about friendship, loneliness, purpose, potential and even love.


I'm really tempted to give this one a solid 9/10 for pure effort that went into it. The only thing holding this one back is the clicheed plot and the connection to the brand, which isn't really noticeable unless you know of it.
So if you're looking for a mellow, sometimes sad and dramatic, but still very lovely and heartful anime, give this one a shot!

Still have nine half animes of last season to cram down my throat.

Random Picture of the Day: For Obvious Reasons...

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime episode 2. Shirayuki is a really good heroine. Even if she didn't get saved by the prince, you still get the impression that she'd never simply wait around to be rescued.

God Eater Episode 1. I'm not sure what to think just yet. The animation was odd, I suppose to better match the games. Obviously needs more Alisa.
