This is very likely true...but, what if it does?  What if it not only justifies the lengthy dev time, but smashes it to tiny itsy bitsy pieces?  Would love to see that unfold live.

That's a big "What if?" However, if it does live up then we're the lucky ones. We'll get to play an awesome game, but I'll hope something like this never happens again

It kinda depends on what happens, I guess.  If my 'What if' comes through, I think it only reaffirms the need for developers to shut out the noise, and work on their projects aloof to what the peanut galleries are saying (which has been my stance since...forever).  Of course, if it does launch and sucks, or underwhelms (a virtual lock at this point, given the hype), it would suggest that Sony needs to hold off on announcing games before they know a finished product is coming.

So who wants to pay for my train ticket and hotel room so I can go?

I think it's 7 PM local German time, If I'm right that timetable is wrong.

Germany is in CEST right now right? Germany is +1 hour ahead of UK, i'm 95% certain UK is at 7pm.

Defo 2pm Eastern time, (Eastern daylight saving time), New york is 6 hours behind Germany, so I think the table is correct.

Germany aren't in CET right now, otherwise it would be 7pm

I'm almost certain now, it's 7pm german time (Central European Summer Time) that's 6pm BST

Hmm, that's a tempting offer.

I think everyone should know that by now (@bolded). I have been of the mindset that a game shouldn't go through multiple E3 conferences. It gives me the impression that something went wrong and usually games that go through multiple E3 conferences also get more disected and negative press (i.e. Driveclub, The Order 1886, Watch Dogs more recently). It's pretty much the main reason why I believe only Media Molecule will show their game since I get the idea they're the only Sony studio that can release their game within a year.

from IGN:

Sony has confirmed its Gamescom 2014 press conference will take place on Tuesday, August 12 at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm GMT.

Okay, GMT confuses me so ignore that, currently America is in daylight saving, and EU/UK is not.

Current time as of posting is 3:30pm in New york.
Current time as of posting is 9:30pm in Germany.

Clocks won't change until well after summer.
So Germany is 6 hours infront of New york.

So if New york (2pm EDST) is 6 hours behind Germany throughout August, it's 8pm for Germany.
