metacritic at 96 right now. Just pre ordered my copy on the PSN. Anyone know if the store will update at midnight PST like it did for infamous?

That just brings back old memories of last year when the game came out and EVERYONE was either calling the game the GOTG or saying it was overrated, and there was thread after thread of people trying to prove one way or the other......Good times:)

How can a site nitpick a game this good down to an 8/10 while glossing over the hundreds, maybe thousands of flaws present in a game like Skyrim? It's fine being extremely critical if they at least show a bit of consistency.

I decided to trade in my old copy for the PS3 and try this mofo. I am pretty excited for multiplayer with better frames.

I've learned I simply can't trust reviews period. I just have to decide on my own and I do read reviews but I only to see what they say and if anything they tell me will really bother me about the game. I could care less what the final score is. For instance I really enjoyed thief but it got horrible scores across the board.

Because games don't start out with a score of 10 and then get deductions.  They start out at 0 and earn their way up to a 10 or whatever.  Gamestop just didn't think the last of us was worth more than 8.  And I can tell you first hand that if you were not a huge fan of the genre or the story, you could very easily give this game an 8 or less.  How many times can one do the same ladder/plank/raft puzzle before he goes insane?  :P
