been playing FFX on my vita for over 100 hours, so much depth in the game and so much stuff to do. I would say go with final fantasy because it is in my opinion a better game overall and a much longer game

Child of Light was good for an indie game maybe, but it is very overrated.

Both are trash. Esp the story of crazy luna imagining Tidus the whole time in a super linear game. Really lame characters.

Pretty much every single JRPGs out there have lame characters. Final Fantasy X and XIII have the least lame ones.

I have to agree, I used to LOVE Final fantasy X/X-2. Until I bought the HD version, and wanted to play it again for nostalgia reasons(its good for you're soul sometimes., but boy i couldn't be more wrong this time) Holy shit its crap. Its so damn linear. Its corridor after corridor. The random battles are frustrating and boring. The story iswell.. I didn't like it but I don't speak for everyone so that's just my opinion,  but everything else was just crap. Yoshinori Kitase can just resign and get lost. I cant believe I loved this game once. I played it for an hour and returned the game.  Although I still love VII,VIII,IX and XII.  Kitase just ruined FF for me. if XV sucks I will never support Final Fantasy again.

anyway I don't have CoL so I recommend FF X/X-2 you're basically getting rough 80 hours of game content for $40

I just gave up on child of light on chapter 9 it lost something and battles were getting tedious and the music after a while grates on you

What an odd comparison. Both are great games, but there's a MASSIVE difference in scale here. Child of Light can be completed 100%, started in New Game +, and completed 100% again in about 10-15 hours, without a walkthrough. DLC would stretch it to 20, maybe. Probably not. To complete Final Fantasy X alone 100% would probably take 60-80 hours, double that when X-2 is included.

Asking whether to get FFX/X-2 HD or Child of Light is like asking whether to get Super Mario Galaxy or Cloudberry Kingdom. If you like RPGs, you'll want to get both, but which you get first will depend on how much time and money you feel like investing in your next game.
