This is unprecedented for a Nintendo title in that country. Perhaps this was the title Nintendo needed to get back up on their feet... But then again...
I remember a person saying that the reason why the Wii U is selling isn't just because of Mario Kart 8 (even though that's the biggest contributor to the Wii U's sales), but because casuals are interested in Mario Kart 8 and realizing that the game is for a new system, which for all of this time, was thought to be just a simple add-on. According to this person, Mario Kart 8 established polarity between the Wii and the Wii U among casuals.

It's unprecendented for Nintendo to have a non-packaged game stay in the top 5 in Europe while, at the same time, outselling other regions.

Japan has no MK8 bundle and no free games (you can only test 2 games and get them cheaper).

Not really surprising, every Mario Kart except the first two have higher European sales compared to Japanese. There's more people in Europe.

You do know that europe is not a country, right?

When DerNebel was questioning what I was saying, He was questioning my reply to the sales in the UK. The UK is a country. When I went to explain what I meant, I went into a bit more detail and included Europe (since the UK is a part of Europe and "Europe" appears to be the topic of the thread).

Why do you always use bold ? It's annoying...
