This is unprecedented for a Nintendo title in that country. Perhaps this was the title Nintendo needed to get back up on their feet... But then again... I remember a person saying that the reason why the Wii U is selling isn't just because of Mario Kart 8 (even though that's the biggest contributor to the Wii U's sales), but because casuals are interested in Mario Kart 8 and realizing that the game is for a new system, which for all of this time, was thought to be just a simple add-on. According to this person, Mario Kart 8 established polarity between the Wii and the Wii U among casuals.

It's unprecendented for Nintendo to have a non-packaged game stay in the top 5 in Europe while, at the same time, outselling other regions.

You do know that europe is not a country, right?

When DerNebel was questioning what I was saying, He was questioning my reply to the sales in the UK. The UK is a country. When I went to explain what I meant, I went into a bit more detail and included Europe (since the UK is a part of Europe and "Europe" appears to be the topic of the thread).
