I was led to believe that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the best game of the franchise, but if we use your logic system, the game actually is way way worse than MGS2: Sons of Liberty, scoring five points less than its predecessor. Things keep going downhill with the series latest mediocre effort Portable Ops, right?

 

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has lower metacritic and Game Ranking than the following Playstation exclusives Uncharted 2 (The same as Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), The Last of Us (not higher than Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), Little Big Planet (Less than Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots (Less than Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), God of War III (Less than Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), Journey's overall Game of the Year 2012 (Something Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty achieved back in 2001), and Uncharted 3 was nominated for Game of the Year Honors in 2011 including the VGA's Overall Game of the Year Award, something (while not the VGA's) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty had already achieved.

 

So, following that line of logic, we get to the point that the only Playstation Exclusive Sony has produced in the last 13 years that can be considered "Masterpiece" in comparison to a masterpiece because metacritic says so, is Uncharted 2. Only one game. One. The rest, games like Journey, The Last of Us, LittleBigPlanet and so aren't masterpieces, because, if we compare them with MGS2: Sons of Patriots, they scored less metacritic.

What a shame for Sony.

 

Not really as its easy to see from lookiing at Metacritic ( or Game Rankings ) that the Best Sony exclusives The Last of Us, Uncharted 2 ( which I'm pretty sure has a higher Metacritic ranking than MGS 2  ) Little Big Planet, etc. were all better than any exclusive Microsoft has had since the first Halo game since the Halo series kept declining in quaiity with each passing installment ( and especially so now since Bungie's not even making Halo games, they're making Destiny with its Best Version coming exclusively to PS4 ), and as has been the case with the Gears of War series and as will even more severely be the case with future Xbox One Gears  games, since future Xbox One Gears games are going to be developed by Black Tusk and not Epic the series original creators who couldn't even keep the series from declining in quality from its first installment which at its best wasn't even on par with Uncharted, The Last of Us, etc. to begin with.

So, you agree that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a better game than The Last of Us, and on-par with Uncharted 2. Gotcha.

Did somebody mention Remedy and Quantum Break? That's not one to really get excited about because Remedy is just a bunch of B Players ( note: Not B+ players even ). Not really in Sony Santa Monica or Naught Dog's league.

You don't know jack about gaming. Yes I sid that.

First of all, Xbox games aim to excell in gameplay department, whereas Sony titles like Uncharted and TLOU are interactive movies.

You won't find any first person shooter that plays like Halo, any TPS that plays like Gears, even though EVERY TPS copies its cover based mechanics. Bungie is *uck up. They dropped Reach that was a sub par experience compared to Halo1-3 and left 343i with a hot potato. Black Tusk is formed by former Epic employees that used to work on Gears. Gears 2 and 3 are considered the best in the series and it never dropped in quality while it was being developed by Epic.

It doesn't change the fact that The Last of Us is still a Masterpiece since it has over a 95 on Game Rankings or Metacritic and the fact that that is higher than any Xbox Exclusive other than the very first Halo that was released in 2001 and its highly unlikely that the highly anticipated Master Chief Collection will beat it especially since its not even being made by Bungie and it's an easy bet to say that Black Tusk's Gears Collection certainly won't be in the same league.

No, no. Don't twist your own argument now for the sake of winning: you're fixated onto the metacritic department. The Last of us FAILS at being a masterpiece since it doesn't reach Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metacritic.

 

You used the same logic for Gears of War 3 scoring 91. So, using the same train of logic, we can apply it to The Last of Us too.

Both games fail at being masterpieces because they don't have same Metacritic as Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. That's the sad truth.

Ain't no Sony studio as inovative as Remedy. Gameplay wise no studio Sony have can touch them.

Like I told you games are not only for graphics showcase. Alan Wake and Max Payne are not even B+ games now.
