thousands of rockets nonetheless

my question stands - how would you react ?

Since 2001, Palestinian militants have launched thousands of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip as part of the continuing Arab–Israeli conflict. As of July 2014 the attacks have killed 28 people,[1] mostly civilians, and injured thousands, but their main effect is their creation of widespread psychological trauma and disruption of daily life among the Israeli populace.[2] Medical studies in Sderot, the Israeli city closest to the Gaza Strip, have documented a post-traumatic stress disorder incidence among young children of almost 50%, as well as high rates of depression and miscarriage.[3][4][5] A public opinion poll conducted in March 2013 found that most Palestinians do not support firing rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip.[6]

And you took that literally?! What the heck?! And like I said before, why bring civilians into this? In context of what's going on now, Palestinians would be glad if only 28 people died as opposed to hundreds.

It's a fact, not a metaphor. You can only "take it litterally"

Anyway, no point discussing with you if you can't cope with the most common of facts. (that even palestinians and Hamas don't deny)

You took a phrase that didn't mean it literally literally. When they said "thousands", they meant "a lot". It's English 101 and I can't believe you miss something as simple as that. And you're right. There is no point discussing with you, but not for the reasons you stated. It's because of someone's lack of capacity to read in between the lines. -_-"

I rarely participate in political discussions, but what Israel is doing is inexcusable. I agree with Israel that the people of Hamas are dumb, at the same time, DO NOT bring civilians into this! Why would you kill innocent people who just want to live good lives, especially after all the **** their people had to go through the past 60 years?

How would you react if your country was constantly the target of rockets ?

honest question

Target of rockets of a terrorist group that only represents a minority of a group of people. This is exactly why I rarely participate in political discussions!

Lol! Do you like quoting the Israeli/USA propaganda machine? Have you got any independent information or just this biased rhetoric?

As if there was an actual poll conducted in Palestine asking the 1.7 million people about firing rockets! You need to lay off Fox News!

Still waiting to see some independent verification of these thousands of rockets fired every day

Israel is not trying to kill civilians.   It is completely counter productive to what they are trying to do, and hurts them on a international diplomatic level.

putting aside rights to attack and all politics etc.

1.8 million people, living in an area 360 square km.    within that area hamas has fired around 2000 rockets.   it is very hard to hit these targets without hurting civies.

and that doesnt even get into the debate on wether or not human shields are being used. (not going to touch that one, unless inside gaza, no one should really be saying one thing or another on that)

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Do you have any proof that the info provided is fabricated or is it simply your assumption ?

Your thousands of rockets statement is completely false. Regardless, target the terrorists because they are ones responsible. However, Israel is doing the exact opposite by indiscrimminately attacking everyone, whether they be children, the elderly, or a caring, loving mother.

Israel's attacks are hardly indiscriminate.  They are targeted directly towards terrorists.  The problem is terrorists hide themselves and their weapons among civilian targets.

Perfect example is a UN school that was built specifically as a haven for Palestinians where UN inspectors (not Israel) found rockets hidden.  Terrorist targets and civilian targets are one in the same.  The best way to reduce civilian casualties may be more ground based efforts and less reliance on air support, but that leads to other problems.

Indiscriminate?

Don't tell me there were some Hamas terrorists on the beach just before launching their phantom and deadly rockets!

Their only crime was playing footy on the beach!

Very sad.  Could be a pilot that is a horrible person, could have been a mistake.  At any rate, this does not particularly show a pattern.  However, there is clearly a pattern of Hamas hiding fighters and weapons among civilians.

There are lots of stuff I can link for you but I'm at work and on a phone which makes it difficult to do. Will do some later but here's one worth watching as it's an israeli zionist so your getting first hand facts from the horses mouth. Search him up on Google or YouTube!

Also I recently attended a demonstration to stop the killing of civilians in Gaza. There were Jewish people there protesting too!

1. completely agree

2. http://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/unrwa-strongly-condemns-placement-rockets-school

the sad thing is that the organization gave the rockets back to Hamas - among other controversies it refuses to teach palestinians about the Holocaust.
