I didn't say that but you're suggesting that Israel is attacking back just because of those 3 killings.

That's how the recent escalation started.

More akin to the drop of water that tips the scale (or something along those lines). I don't think either are in the right but the only way this conflict will stop is if each party says "let's share this land 50/50".

Agreed.

Hamas is the problem. They don't care about the palestinian population, fact is for them the more palestinians that are killed the better for them.

Pretty much. As much as my left-wing gut hates what Israel does to the Palestinian people, the reality of the situation is that Hamas answered Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza a decade ago with ten years of rocket fire.

However, Israel's response simply creates a seige mentality that allows Hamas to continue flourishing in Gaza. The desperate situation created by the blockades creates a more desperate world where the more ruthless are going to be the leaders, and can continue legitimizing themselves by pointing out to Israel (and now Egypt) who pen them in and starve them out.

In my mind, the only way to solve the situation is to make peace with the PA in the West Bank (which now, at least nominally, includes Hamas in a unity government). A properly-concluded peace, then you give the PA the weapons it needs to go to the other side and fight Hamas themselves.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The problem with Israel's actions even if they really only want to defend their people and nothing more is that they only make it worse. Not only do they kill more innocent people in a week as the Hamas could do in years with their laughable rockets but they also only increase the hate of certain groups against them and these groups will have it even more easy to get more support in the future.

Israel can destroy tunnels to make it harder for Hamas but that will clearly not decrease the amount of innocent deaths nor will it decrease the number of people who are willing to fight against Israel.

I don't necessarily disagree with this, but what do you propose as an alternative?

If rockets were dropping on your city, and your government did nothing to prevent it, what would you do as a citizen?

Not sure what I would or could do if my city would get attacked but I would surely not support to kill 1000 innocent in another city because there could die 10 in my city. Especially knowing that this won't make it better because of the increasing hate against my city in areas around me so that the death rate in my city won't really decrease even if it will be harder for those in the other city to attack my city.

All the Islamic states surrounding Israel want Israel dead. Plain and simple. Israel is defending its right to exist. This has been going since the days the country was originally founded. And don't try to play the "Palestineans were there first". There is archeological evidence, that dates back thousands of years, that proves that that was the Jews' holy land with virtually zero evidence of a Palestine. It's their land, and they have every right to do what they must to defend it and protect their civilians when they're threatened by terrorist.

Finally someone points this out. Palestine didn't get the land stolen from them, historically, it has belong to the jews more than the Palestines.

One might argue that the Canaanites, who lived in the land before the Israelis, are Arabs or Arab ancestors. In that case, Aren't the Arabs more entitled to the land than Israelis?

(not like anyone can be entitled to a land or anything :P)

Simple question :

Why do neighbouring arab countries do little to nothing to help palestinians (their "brothers") ? - why is the palestian gvt using the aid money from US and EU to buy rockets instead of investing in the country ?

It seems like that desperation is orchestrated

You do know that Hamas is the goverment there, right? Hundreds of people dying is orchestrated, huh? I doubt you would be saying that if a foreign country was killing your people...

So it doesn't bother you that arab countries and the palestinian gvt do nothing for the palestinians ?

ok

Arabs countries are ruled by corrupt rulers which is why they're all standing up in the streets chanting. The Palestinian "government" is not capable of doing much good, as they had very little funding, a laughable police force and no army. Which government can function under such conditions. Not to mention Isreal sabotaging everything they try like when they went to the UN and tried to be a country instead of a nation. You can guess who voted against this.

Wasn't Gaza firing hundreds of rockets at Israel before they (Israel) decided to invade? I mean a country can only tolerate so much before they attack back. I mean if Mexico started firing rockets into the United States then us attacking them would be justified in my opinion. Civilian casualties happen in any conflict, hard to avoid in a place like Gaza where the terrorists are mixed in with the civilian population.

But eh that's just my opinion anyway.

Can only tolerate so much?

You realize that after World War II, Palestine had their land STOLEN from them and given to Israel, right?

You do understand that is why this is all happening still, all of these decades later, right?

Israel deserves everything they get. You kill Jesus, this is what happens; a life of turmoil for all generations of Israel.

"You kill jesus" my head exploded, i was hopping it was sarcasm, beliefs like this are the reason why this conflict has no end in sight.

I said, as a citizen, not as the governement.  As a citizen, I would demand action to be taken, and if it wasn't, I'd elect someone who would.  If rockets keep firing, the Israeli government will keep attacking, or a new governement will be elected that will.

Yeah and there is archeological evidence, that dates back thousands of years, that proves the native americans were in the USA first

Yeah, believe it or not a lot of Palestinians AND Israelis publicly supported this notion to end the on going war once and for all.

of course this could've been avoided if the Arabs agreed to split the land between them and the Jews in 1947, but you can't blame 'em for not wanting a minority to get 56% of the land.
