You have not been around long enough to see the sales trends of consoles. To look at the PS4's sales so far and say it wont pass 100 million is very interesting. No console that has sold at this trajectory this early in its life has failed to to pass 100 million units.
Also the PS4 still has many games yet to release and many price cuts to go through. The PS4 is still outpacing the PS2 in the same time frame at a higher price.

Just think about that.

Good point. A lot people bought the PS2 because it was cheap DVD player back when DVD players were more expensive.

I think it could make it but we aren't getting another ps2-like dominance anytime soon if ever. Sony just needs to keep up the pressure. We still have price cuts, bundles, and console revisions for the ps4 to go this gen!

The only reason the PS3 didn't reach 100 mil was because of the 360, the Xbox One isn't a threat to the PS4, the fact that it couldn't even beat the PS4 with a brand new price drop, their own homeland/their best territory means they are a big of a threat as they were with the 360. PS4 reaching 100 mil, easy.

the most people just didnt cared about blueray. and the price was sick in the first years. not like the ps2.  everyone wanted a DVD player, VHS was out...

Is this bizarro world? PS3 was doing horrible the first 3 years and is still managed to sell 80M.

PS4 will reach 100M is a no brainer.

For what reason? the Wii U? the X1? Steam mahcines? I don't think so.

PS4 is getting every game under the sun, Sony's exclusives, Japan's exclusives and most of them with better graphics and frame rate. It also will be getting a VR device that may caught the world on fire (could be a complete failure too who knows).

Well it looks like the PS4 will be an unstoppable beast right now, but we dont know what the future will bring. Alot can happen in the next 5 years.
