I think that the 2ds could have been something for nintendo. It just was not marketed right. Look:

First of all, nintendo never said anything about why they made it blocky. It is because (or at least probably) of the screens. Tons of 3ds screens (including mine) became damaged https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhjixIra7_k and that is why they made it blocky like it is.

Secondly, (most obviuously) its cheaper. And tell me this. Who uses the 3d?

This is why the 2ds could have been something, but it became nothing. I havent seen people walking around with 2ds's but I have seen a bunch of 3ds's. What do you guys think?

It was blocky so little babies won't break hinges. Also Leapster type of games should have been bundled with it.

The only reason I didn't buy a 2DS was because the screens are too small, otherwise I love thing

The 2DS is made for children. There was a lot of backlash about the 3D because of false rumors that it damaged the eyes of children.

They never wanted it to become really big. It's an option for kids and other folks with little money. But Nintendo would rather see people buy the more expensive 3DS XL. Because moneyzz.

I think the 2DS should have been a bit smaller. It's not particulary big, but it doesn't seem very portable. Haven't tried one, just a first impression.
