Numbers are in the OP.  I'm looking more for an explanation since I haven't heard of Wedbush before and didn't know they were a credible source. I personally am a Sony fanboy but I'd still like all consoles to be treated fairly and the OP................

PS4 NPD was 269K, VGC was about 190k though. And yeah, I don't think anyone is using Wedbush as a trusted resource, more just for comparison really.


PS4 did better than I thought. 71K undertracked for the month and it's not even globally. I doubt EU is selling that much less considering it's such a big PlayStation market. The sales are going to be really good in the future.

I could be wrong, of course, it was awhile ago.  But, yeah, have you really looked into the next gen only games launched for PS3/PS4 and compared?  Or is this just a perception thing?

I don't know about the PS2 or PS1, but I think they are right when compared to the PS3. I was gonna make an argument that this wasn't the case cause to me it really doesn't feel like I don't have games to play so I went about making a list.

Between nov 2006 and december 2007 of the PS3 a total of 33 exclusives were released. Thats 33!!!! Now like a third of those games were either Japan only, or an eyetoy game eg Eye of judgement, but there were still a total of 33 games. And this isn't adding indie projects like flow or corss gen exclusives like Ninja gaiden sigma.

However, if you look at the list of the 360 or wii over the same period, they all had a similar number of exclusives too. Simple deduction, there were more companies making games back then. There were also a lot of failures too, then most of those companies closed down. Sad....

While you're probably right, it's rather disingenuous to be comparing a 13 month games library, to a 7 month games library, don't you think?  Wouldn't it be more appropriate to judge Nov 2006 to July 2007?

Nope.... thought about that too, and considered a list of every exclusive confirmed to be released from nov 2013 to december 2014. We have 16 true exclusives. Meaning only on the PS4 and not including the "console exclusives" (also coming to/already on PC).  Of that 16, seven of them are AAA titles and the rest are indie games. One the PS3, all 33 were AAA games. A lot of crap, but  AAA non the less.

Also didn't add any of the remasters. If you add every single game that has been ear marked for a 2014 release, especially under the "console" exclusive category that number jumps quickly to around 45. But every single one is some sort of indie game.

I think people are missing the point of my post, I'm not talking about exclusives at all. I'm talking about games people can't get on PS360. There were at this point already many games that were 3rd party multi plat people couldn't get on the OG Xbox and PS2.

My post is regarding games people HAVE to go out and buy a new console to play, not exclusive titles. 


I dunno why you were saying last month that Xbone was beating PS4 at gamestop. Your post is from june 16. Xbone pricecut was june 9.

Yeah I find this very odd. So Xbone was selling shit before june 9 because of the incoming pricecut and from june 9-15 it managed to outsell PS4 from june 1-15?????
