Forums - Sony - The Last of Us PS4 vs PS3 Screenshot comparison

Damn, the better res/textures and LOD distance have had a huge effect on the detail of distant objects.

All in all, a much bigger difference than i was expecting. They could have simply bumped it to 1080p/60fps and most would have been happy. The extra effort is appreciated.

holy crap at the change in draw distance. massive.

definitely upgrading now.

I hope they release a demo. I'm rethinking this game now....need to see it running on my TV to know if it's worth the upgrade.

You don't seem happy. The fact that a game has such an affect on you make you seem quite depressed and down.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Very nice!

No, I'm neither getting mad nor hostile. You just made a completely stupid comment, of course it's the same game, nobody ever claimed something else.

Context clues lead one to believe he meant "same game" as in "looks exactly the same" and, barring some higher-texture packs which are next to irrelevant unless you stop to admire the details on a nearby rock, it does look like bugger all has really been done. Its gotten a fresh coat of paint... on a game that really didn't need the coat of paint.

Yeah, I gathered that much, still doesn't make his comment less stupid.

And how about you look at the pictures in fullscreen? If you look at both in fullscreen and say that "bugger all has really been done" then you're pretty much just trying to not see the differences, that's like saying the PC version of a game and it's console port look "exactly the same".

Looks better, especially for stuff in the distance. Problem is that when I look at the screenshots I don't find the PS4 version really good looking. I just find the PS3 version "ugly" now. If I would play it now on PS4 I would probably not really recognize a difference to what I saw last year on my PS3 since I simply remember the PS3 version much better and I only realize it when I see comparison shots.

But those who look at the comparison shot in the op and say that there is no difference have to lie or have to have huge problems with their eyes.

Don't say that, don't you see that they both look pretty much exactly the same?
