Looking at your favorite console company as your dad is a bit much, but ok... :p
If the general consensus is, this is a shitty practice, then those who still keep running the red light are indeed to blame.

It's all fine now, online drm averted, games with gold to sweeten the deal, Kinect ditched, and buying exclusivity is nothing more than contracting 1st party games after all. Now if only they could fit that ugly power brick inside the console. I already have the 360 one hanging outside the av cabinet with a separate cable to it. (Same goes for the WiiU, but that one at least is easy to stick behind it)

Just whoever doesn't have X1 that cares about trivial issues like that. I travel a lot and the brick never caused me any issue whatsoever, be it weight, space or noise.

Haters gonna hate, you can't change blind fanboyism with rational discussion.

I find this comment very ironic.

Anyway, MS have done a lot of great things for gaming. Most notably online gaming. No matter how you spin it, the Xbox 360 was more superior than the rest for an online experience.

But in no way can you defend the fail rate of the 360. Yes you also can't defend the fail rate of the PS1 and PS2 either and I'm pretty sure there was a lot of outrage about that to. When the 360 was dropped, we were entering an era where everybody and their nan was gettinf the 'net. It is now very easy for one person to be vocal to millions. So when a lot of 360's were dying, we heard about it.

The 360 is a great console and I don't really think it took that much flak for thing other than the fail rate. Just a vocal minority making a loud splash behind the keyboard. But the same can be said the other way. PS3 took a hammering also for things that weren't justified.

If we look at the X1, can you justify what MS tried to do with their original vision? I didn't see you defend the X1 and thats where the major problem now lies with gamers.

Where is Lewis he sets this place ablaze and runs away...

Well, actually I travelled a lot in my X360 days, and every single time at the airport they searched my luggage because of the power brick. Every single time. I guess it looks or feels a lot like a bomb.

A lot of those sales came at discount prices.  I got mine new for $19.99.  Anyway they game wasn't a failure or they wouldn't be working on Quantum Break right.  Things probably would have turned out worse for Remedy if they would have stayed with Take 2/Rockstar and took the blame for the poor performance of Max Payne 3.  Overal I think MS is pretty satisfied with how Allan Wake did.  It looks like Quantum Break will be a much bigger project then Allan Wake especially since they also have a live action show attached to it.  Allan Wake somewhat laid the groundwork for that since they had a few live action shorts attached to that game.

LOL He dug down real deep for this. Microsoft dug their own grave and only they can fix their PR.

Didn't dig at all.  Just replying to what I remembered from somebody else's post about why they hate Microsoft.  Can't remember most of it.  Honestly, most threads I make are replying to something I see elsewhere in the forums.

MS has done much better since Spencer took over. They are supporting indies better, and bolstering up their first party by bringing back games like Phantom Dust. It seems to me that their priority right now is games.

If Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo make stupid mistakes they deserve every bit of the backlash. It seems its just taking Microsoft a little more time to get adjusted to the industry. They've fixed all their problems so much my PS4 and Xbone are only separated by power and games now. Outside of that they are basically just pepsi and coke.

I'm with ya.  Last gen, my PS3 was for exclusives, Metal Gear and Final Fantasy games.  My 360 was for multi-plats and MS exclusives.  This gen, I see my PS4 being used for almost all multiplats and PS exclusives and my ONE only being used for exclusives but really, from my experience, they arent that different.  Like everybody else, I have my bias (Nintendo ftw!) but I don't let it blind me.  As long as I get the games I want, I'm happy.
