Excuses? Sundin13 nailed it. PS4 is getting a good weekly market share but poor sales. 100k per week is actually bad, it's even less than what PS3 was doing back in "2007"/2008 when the Wii was eating it alive

And funny how you entirely forget about the Wii, which did far better than both PS3 and PS4 along the months of the first 2 years disregarding the launch period (which I have to ignore since this thread the about a video talking about the PS4 sales today).

So I guess I was right when I said the weekly 100k PS4 is doing now is bad, since it's even worse than what PS3 did back in 2008 and far worse than Wii. And, regardless of my initial lack of precision (when I said 2007 or 2008) since I was recalling past memories without checking any chart, there's no way you can tell PS4 is doing good right now as the video says. Sundin13 and I were right.

Funny how I talked about 2007/2008 and you almost only consider 2007. Now I remember that it was more about 2008, when the PS3 was at the same 400€ PS4 is now. Aside from the launching period, it is clear in your graphic that PS4 does about 3 bars (150k) and then it declines to 2 bars (100k) while in 2008 PS3 does about 3 bars (150k) most of the time.

And funny how you entirely forget about the Wii, which did far better than both PS3 and PS4 along the months of the first 2 years disregarding the launch period (which I have to ignore since this thread the about a video talking about the PS4 sales today).

No, you weren't right. At all. Of course the numbers look bad if you compare it to PS3's 2008 sales; at that point the PS3 had an established library which included.the newly-released MGS4, an exclusive, must-have, system-selling title. You NEED to be comparing it to summer 2007, which directly correlates to now, the PS4's first summer. If you do THAT, like you should be, you'll see the PS4 is selling much, much better than the PS3 during the same time period. To say nothing of the fact the PS4 has now more than doubled the PS4's sales during the same time period. I GUARANTEE the PS4's sales will look even stronger next summer with the plethora of titles releasing Sept through next spring. Even the X1 is gonna pick up. It ain't pulling PS4 numbers, but it's STILL outselling PS3 during its first summer. You want doom and gloom? Look at PS3's first year sales, especially in the summer. It still went on to do just fine.

Honest to God. I don't get the annual summer doomsday posts. Really, I don't.

Funny how the equivalent to 2007/2008 in this comparison is 2014/2015.  So, no wonder he almost exclusively looks at 2007, since 2015's numbers don't exist and won't...for another 17 months (for all of 2015), and 2014's won't be done for another 5.

If you don't know the slash symbol can mean "or" just tell me that or read again the 3rd paragraph paying attention to the underlined.

Moreover, "the equivalent to 2007/2008" (as you like to say) is what PS4 is selling right now (not in 2013 and surely not in 2015). The video of the OP, my comments, the whole thread is about PS4 selling now.

Your graphic conveniently comprises PS4 sales in 2013 and first months of 2014, conveniently disregards PS3 sales in 2008 and entirely disregards Wii sales. I've told you that and you've just ignored it.

You are addressing charts and comments to me that are not for me. Please stop.

My graphic?  You are addressing charts and comments to me that are not for me.  Please stop.

See what I did there?  Pay attention, I never posted the graphic.

And the point still remains, what's the purpose of including 2008 in this discussion, when the present day equivalent 2015, hasn't even begun yet?

I think ps4 doing pretty good compared to last year start , I think it will only get better.

1 - I did a comparison and I was right about it, regardless whether you think it's fair or not. You can criticize the comparison, you can't tell I'm wrong.

2 - That is your reasoning. Mine is: PS3 started at 600€ and got to the 400€ price point on 2008, PS4 is at 400€ since the beginning. Today PS4 is doing poorly when compared to PS3 at the same price. But since the price doesn't seem to be an issue for you, then compare the PS4 with the Wii and see what happens (it was doing around 250k per week on the "equivalent" period!).

3 - How do you classify PS4 sales today? Do you think it's a good sign when people can only accept the challenge of comparing it to the PS3 (which was lagging behind the competition on the last generation)?

Yes, the graphic you quoted and made comments on supporting it. And my comments to you are also valid to Dr.Henry_Killinger, who posted the graphic but wasn't able to write comments he could stand for.

Your graphic is one big fallacy since it has little to do with the comparison I made in the first place. The point still remains and you didn't, you won't, you can't say a word about that.

The price point, like I said for several times but you continue to ignore what you can't counter-argue.

Dude give it a rest. the Ps4 is selling better than the competition and the Ps3 last gn. There is even a chart showing that.

I quoted the graphic along with your response to it.  My response was to your response.  It's called a quote tree.  Why is this so difficult to understand?  Then again, you are trying to compare the PS3's second year to the PS4's 1st year, so I guess I can understand why that's difficult to understand.

The price point means exactly jack squat.  You can't take an entire years worth of sales, with an additional 17 months worth of IP, and compare that to now.   Well, you can try, but it has no bearing on this, regardless of how many times you try to rehash it.

It's a dry month, everybody knows it, trying to use invalid statistics to hammer the point home, doesn't do anything but make you look silly.

There are a lot of butt hurt Nintendo fans on this site smh. I think ps4 is selling great for a system without a lot of quality games. I think starting call of this year sales will be through the roof. 3 out of the 4 sony consoles will end up market leaders when this generation is done. I trust in sony when it comes to consoles. They have 3 of 4 best selling consoles of all time also. People should stop comparing ps4 to last generation. No one here was comparing wii to ps2 because the final numbers laughable
