It was their second best E3... The best one was the E3 2004 conference thanks to the introduction of the Regginator and thanks to the epic TP reveal trailer!

Edit: I thought OP ws talking about 2014 E3.

Game wise 2014 was the best Nintendo E3. But sad news is that this was kinda nintendo's response to "wake up call". And this wont reflect in Nintendo's console and game sales.

At E3 2002 they had Metroid Fusion, Metroid Prime, Sunshine, Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, the GC remake of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0, so I guess you're right! Oh, they also announced the wireless Wavebird controller which is a huge plus!
