Xenoblade and Bayo will help its image. Devil's Third won't cos of its low production values.

Fatal Frame might help too.

Thats what annoys me about Nintendo though. They have games ready to be released in the west, but they just choose not to. Just pay a guy 1000 bucks to translate Fatal Frame 5 over a weekend and release it everywhere at the same time. Like Sony and MS usually do.

Hyrule Warriors is a good example. Releases first in Japan where the WiiU is doing the worst. Then in europe where its doing better and then in america where it sells the most. Just release HW everywhere in august and FF5 in september.

Its just annoying...

Not at all. The Wii had plenty of games like that. Didn't help.

It did help, actually. If you honestly believe Wii would have been just as successful without games like Twilight Princess and Monster Hunter Tri, you're kidding yourself.

I fully 1000% believe that it would have been as successful without them. I'm not kidding myself at all.

If you don't think those games moved consoles, then there's no point in discussing with you. You're out of touch with reality.

People bought TP because it was a new Zelda and motion controls, not because it had hardcore cred. TP would have sold the same with WW graphics, and MH Tri sold just 2m units. It didn't move shit. 99% of people who bought it already had a Wii.

Oh please, were you even on this site in 2009 when MH3 launched? It moved plenty of hardware. As for TP, you only have to look at the hype for it among the gamers who dismissed WW.

No dudebro would ever buy a Wii U even if it had 'mature' titles. None of this should matter as long as Retro and Nintendo can deliver a fun and overall worthwhile experiences which they, so far, have delivered. Can a new Metroid attract a dudebro market? Perhaps. But not by much. Mostly because the dudebros perceive Nintendo as ''just for kids''. They are never going to attract that part of the market, at least a large part of it.

Retro isn't the only capable studio from Nintendo's arsenal that can make the 'mature' titles some of you want. Forcing Retro to make these type of games would stifle their creativity. I wouldn't want Nintendo to do that. If some of you think DK isn't worth their time, then that is your opinion. An opinion the guys from Retro could give two s**ts about. DKCTF is evident of that.

That is true. Going after that crowd would just make Nintendo consoles less unique.

I think DK is worth their time. I just dont think DKR2 is something the WiiU needs right now.

My thought process is that Retro will be developing either Metroid, 3D DK, or a new ip/resurrection of an old IP. Would you be okay with Retro's new game coexisting with Monster's DKR 2?

If Amiibo is a success, there is no telling how successful DKR2 will be (or Retro's game if it uses Amiibo).
