Forums - Gaming - Japan Sales 6/30/14 – 7/6/14

It looks very expected. The PS Vita was never going to last. Problem is they get a good game and it shoots up, but they can't keep it that way and Yo-Kai Watch 2 is out tomorrow and Nintendo 3DS is going to kill the charts. People might come out with stupid insults and try and slam me, but it most likely will. Yo-Kai Watch is massive and in 2 days, the first Yo-Kai Watch would of been a year old and it's still hitting the charts and as you can see it's number 2. God help us when Yo-kai Watch 2 is out tomorrow. Both be up the top 10.

"I'm not being funny, but I find it very unlikely that either of those titles can shift similar amounts of hardware to MK8"

Wii U sales with Pikmin:

first week: 22K

Second week: 14K

Third week: 12K

Perhaps, but console sales are always more sensitive to boost when they're younger and have fewer titles already released, hence why MK8 sold much more software but provided a similar boost. I'll take a bet if you want, no prizes, just out of interest to see who's more accurate - shall we say I win if Hyrule Warriors boosts WiiU to less than 25k, you win if does better (according to Media Create)? Up to you of course :)

You both is interesesting...i'm not sure that will sell more of 25,000.

Sure more of 20,000, but yesh, i predict 25-30...

I accept, but with the 50% of schance of wrong.

OK, I'll put it in my sig so I don't forget :) It's all for fun anyway

Fact!

may the best win.

Next week PS4 will be above Wii U

believe

That Freedom Wars drop isn't anywhere as harsh as I was expecting. Sillyconera just blowing things out of proportion as usual. Hopefully some quick-release DLC and online play will boost the legs somewhat.

Pokemon Art Academy passes 50k this week... which I seem to remember a certain someone saying would never happen :P

Taiko developing legs already; GTAV bargain edition too. Wonder if the game as a whole is going to eek out 1m physical in Japan.

And I'm very pleased to see Demon Gaze pop up on Famitsu. Kinda surprised really, the game just doesn't give up. Experience Inc. did extremely well with their choices for that game (platform; release date; publisher etc.) and it's paid off for them monumentally.

Onto the bad though: terrible for Akiba Strip. Dunno why they bothered with that port (did XSEED offer them extra money to do it possibly?)

Similarly, Island Days: wru? Flopping without even a sighting in Famitsu.

Hardware wise: nothing unexpected really. Only about a month more of WiiU falling before Hyrule Warriors releases? Vita should be up a little in a couple of weeks from Oreshika, I hope. Whereas PS4 has nothing!

About as expected. Surprised to see that Wii U seems to have stabilized around 10k, though it's good to see.

Attitude?  I thought you'd be happy the game sold better than you expected.

Well of course (totally forgot about it!), just didn't expect it to sell, like that much :0

Well that's not really needed now

I thought this was good news really! Maybe not, because I wasn't so sure about it either. That's what you get for doubting Pokemon...

EDIT

Ha I see that Krezzy said almost the same thing. Great minds or something like that
