This is the generation of ports

What ports?

We had Thomb Raider:DE in January

and TLoU + Halo coming later this year! yay flood! Seriously can you count, compared to the complete library this is but a drop in the ocean, especially for the PS4 that already had over 60 games back in May!

TR:DE, Halo, TLOU:R, BTS(Rumor)

At most we have 3 remastered ports for PS4, 2 Remastered ports for X1, Generation of Port for sure...

I don't see how those who say it don't realize they are grossly overrreacting...

Don't forget GTA V, Payday 2, Metro 2033/Last Light...

I still have 4 extra fingers for the PS4, counting B2S rumor

I didn't see anybody complain when George Lucas re-released the Star Wars Saga with better resolution and bonus content. Not one single person. Same thing, right?

I own the PS3 version, bought at launch and loved. But I will not upgrade because I had my fill of Beyond already, it is a cool game, but not legendary.
But this is great for those that did not have a PS3 or the game last gen, I guess it can sell half of million copies.

I'm with you.  I really enjoyed the story and the graphics were already "next gen" to me.  It was an amazing game to behold but, near the end, I was just ready for it to be over.  The story is the main draw in this one.  To me, that story was great but I don't think it's worthy of a second playthrough.

Oh, you are something else man, that is just what I felt: "These graphics are already next gen". I said that to myself dozens of times while playing BEYOND 2 SOULS.

The game is pretty scary in some parts too, in a good interesting way I guess.

Comparing David Cage to George Lucus, that's far too much credit. Don't let him hear it, or he'll be adding some drawn out Noooooooo's to his re-release as well. Or maybe not too much credit, David Cage is still making new stuff.

Yay?

Meh. I heard the game was nothing special.

I can't wait to see kupo's reaction though.

I think I'll just limit my posts to "yet another port" seeing i'm going to have to do this for another 37 PS3 games.

I think it's more to do with developers spending their time remastering a series rather than making brand-new games.

This.  The people defending this practice might be fanboyish enough not to care, but what about the 70-80million people who owned the PS3 who would have bought it on that console if they wanted and still have the chance to buy it for much cheaper.  The people who want new games for their $400 console rather than an endless stream of ports.

*edit*

@Goldenboy  Guess I'm not going to just limit my posts :P.

This is the second PS3 to PS4 retail game port, get a grip. and the more games, the better. its not a simple concept to understand.

people attacking this practice are proving to be nothing short of ignorant. this port, as stated by many others, barely takes any resources, time and effort. yet it gets the devs familiar with the new hardware, helps build their engine for the PS4, gives the chance for non PS3 owners and new PS4 owners to play the game, and makes the devs money. yes, thats important as this is a business.

Quantic Dream already has a PS4 game in development since 2012. this isnt effecting that game. and guess what, Naughty Dog have two AAA games in development, and TLoU:R didnt effect them either.

there are many, many, many new games coming for PS4. in fact PS4 is the console with most games in development. more than anything on XB1 and WIiiU (despite being a year more on the market.) so stop spreading your nonesense, it is by all means making you look incredibly foolish.

Really hoping it won't sell. David Cage is honestly one of the worst writers in the industry. Directing isn't too bad but his characters don't feel human and events don't flow logically.

Also, if you're doing stories in a gaming medium, it would make sense to tell a story in a way that can't be told in any other medium. David Cage created an awful TV series that would only progress if I could come out of a coma long enough to push a button. If he is the shining star of storytelling in this industry and others follow his example, then I quit. I want games to be taken seriously but he is far too incompetent and I think gaming would be better for his absence.

@bolded: you just contradicted yourself. right there. in any other medium you cant push a botton to interact with that medium. the simple fact that different outcomes happen depending on what botton you press, makes the story telling different than any other meduim. the extent that you managed to contradicted in your own complaint is simply outstanding.
