Straightforward question here:

If you're Activision, and you're deciding between porting Destiny or porting CoD: AW to Wii U in 2014, which title do you figure would actually generate more sales/profit? Not trying to say either would be a huge success on Wii U, but one or the other would likely do much better than the other.

I'd figure a new CoD on WiiU to sell around 200k lifetime and Destiny to sell something more like 400k lifetime.

Destiny would be a better port choice as I think it's better geared up to have legs and engage players for a longer period of time. It'd being a T rated rather than M-rated game might play better to the core Nintendo demographics.

Would be one of the best projects for Tantalus/Straight Right (the guys who ported Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex to Wii U). I'm sure Treyarch would be more than willing to help out if they didn't have a CoD title to port to Wii U.

Assuming they released on time. And no delay happened to nerf it, with the other systems. I still say COD. It's a unproven series. COD is known. People would wait for reviews on Destiny. Plus, the extra time waiting to find out the common issues that happen with Nintendo versions. "What's downgraded, missing, is the online bad or good" etc.

COD sell on launch 100K, and lifetime 300-400K...
Destiny probabily will sell like Watch Dogs if supports the gamepad, so probabily 200-300K first year, and 700-900K lifetime.

COD, they already have the engine. I'm assuming Destiny doesn't use the same engine....

I would pre-order a game like this for my Wii U IF it was supported with DLC. I would not support CoD because it lacks DLC.

I would believe if was announced to the public and in the marketing/advertisement, it coul even reach or surpass 1 million LTD. Without any of these factors, they should expect no more than 400,000 LTD. It's a given that it'll sell significantly less than the HD+ twins eitherway, but I'd buy Destiny on The U and others are willing as well.

It's a tough one. The problem with many of these game are availability on other consoles. With content to set the Wii U version apart, it would definitely sell really well. Destiny is highly anticipated.

I think it might sell better than Call of Duty on Wii U but it's not going to happen. I mean they can't even be burdened to port it to PC with their massive budget.
