Well Famitsu is a Japanese publication where Kotaku is a group of Western who really like Japanese things and look at games from that view. I mean the word Otaku is in the name of the website afterall.

So their what you'd call weeaboo's ?

Yes that or Japanophile nipponophile.

Or maybe just people that like Japanese media and modern culture, just to avoid the form of propaganda known as name-calling.

Oh my gosh Kotaku changed their review? I respect their opinion oh so much, I'm going to go out and buy 3 just because they said it was ok.

No need to be a dick about it...

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

I did only get mine three months ago, so I guess I'm not too different of opinion from Kotaku.

Will this help the Wii U? Discuss.

No.  It still costs way too much.  $200 is a fairish price though.

Err. Wrong. With a bundle, it's unbelievably cheap. It doesn't need a price cut.

Now if only we could get every other publisher to say the same we'd be good

I am considering a WiiU because sometimes it is cool to have these surreal childlike experiences like DK or Mario.

When you really think about being "childlike", you think about things like being terrified about being seen as different. Most of us spend the majority of our public school days trying to either fit, or blend in. When we grow up, a lot of us well adjusted adults realize who we are and become comfortable with it. So when you REALLY think about it, dude bros and other 21-40 year old men who only want to play Madden, COD and Halo because they're "men" and wouldn't want to be seen dead playing Zelda...those are really the ones who are acting like children.

If you buy a Wii-U and abmit it openly as an adult? Yours is a life that is MOST adult lol

I was thinking about the sense of wonder children have, and pure fun, without sexual innuendos or mature issues.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Gaming sites will praise all the bad decisions Nintendo make, and try to shout down every good decision that they make.

What's this have to do with this situation? If it's even true at all?

The Wii U was a bad desicion. So they will find a way to praise the console.

But when they make a good desicion, like NSMBW, it will get shouted down. Like this.

An editorial with zero comments?

Either way, NSMBW gets tonnes of flak and I cant fathom ehy, I agree. But in the end, the console being a good or bad desicion is just opinion.

It gets flak because it is perceived as lazy.  Nintendo needed a Mario game, so they just took an existing engine and made an expansion pack for it in HD essentially.  When this happens people get annoyed because we like change and because too much of a similar thing in a short amount of time deadens your perception of it.  If they had released a full 3D Mario game, it would have gotten a better reception. This is also why Mario 3D World kind of got a "meh" from a lot of people - it's a great game, but it's just "more of the same" in many peoples' eyes with 3D Land.  The same thing can be pointed at DK Tropical Freeze - it's a very similar game to the previous one but in HD, etc etc.

If they had released 4 Galaxy games since the first one, you could assume the same thing would start happening there, too.

The Wii U is in a good situation for struggling so much. It has plenty of exclusives now and on the horizon, a lower price point than the competition, and a unique selling proposition unlike either other console.

The question is if that's enough to make up for terrible third party support.

As person myself  who"likes Japanese media and modern culture" those words aren't considered insults by most of the community of people who enjoy Japanese culture. In fact really only weeaboo has a negative meaning. The others just mean you have an high like for Japanese things.
