It is relevant now because it shows that a console can struggle for 1-2 years and have people digging its grave and completely turn things around. We're even seeing the WiiU coming around after almost 2 years. It's one thing if you're something totally new to the market like Ouya, but the WiiU and Xbox One come from very successful predecessors, as did the PS3. PS4 will likely "win" this generation, but that doesn't mean the Xbox One is a failure. Who won the last gen? Honestly at this point, I don't even know, but has it mattered? |
The PS3 was able to catch up (and surpass) the 360 because it had better hardware (including a blu-ray drive, for one thing), better reliability, and a larger library of exclusive games. The Xbox One has none of these advantages.
