this game is sent to die on the ps3

Just like Lost Odyssey on the 360 right?

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I love the style so much...Really I got goosebumps when I saw the first trailer....

The only thing I worry about is if I will love the gameplay....

I kind of expected the game to come out sooner, but Autumn is better than next year, so I am not complaining.

Compared to what? The only console that this game would be truly successful on would be the Wii. It will at least do better on the ps3 than the 360 because it has an install base to sell to in Japan.

Well they could of released in on PS2....

It doesn't seem like it was that high priced a game.

Strategy RPGs never are.  So i wouldn't bet that worried about it turning a profit.  It's not like  SRPGS ever get advertising outside of the occasional print add.

actually both IGN and Gamespot are not listing Valkyrie of the battlefield as a Strategy RPG. Both websites consider this game to an Action Role Playing Game. The best graphics or the more realistic games don't always mean a game is going to be good and I can think of a couple of examples. another game that I enjoyed was Okami and it didn't have the graphics of say todays shooters or shooters of when it was first released.

Systems I own (Games)

Sega: Dreamcast (40) , Saturn (25), Genesis (50), Masters System (10), Game Gear (20)

Sony: PS1 (8), PS2 (60) , PS3 (5), PSP (12)

Atari: 2600 (18) , 7800 (10), Lynx (10)

w00t!

Been following this game for several months now. I really love the art style and and storyline seems to be really good too.

Can't wait to play this game.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Probably because they want it to sell well!

Huh no, seriously i wonder why though. It seems to have basically all the aspects of an SRPG game that I know of... including action points for moves and attacks.

The only thing that makes it seem not like a SRPG is that people can shoot at you while you move... which... operation darkness has a cover system too.

That seems like a miscategorization from all the gameplay footage i've seen.

It's gameplay style basically seems like "Futre Tactics" but with a cover system... oh and good.

Action RPG. I just don't get that classification at all.

Still one of my 10 most anticipated games of 2008.

I can't wait!

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Yeah. After relooking at all the released videos. I think you;d be crazy to call it an action RPG.

It looks like they even stop shooting when you enter "Aim" mode.

It's just a 3-D SRPG without a grid that has a cover mode.

Which mind you is a good thing.
