Forums - Gaming - Will the Elder Scrolls VI manage to look better than Skyrim with mods?

Of course not. The game wouldn't sell if they tried that because only 10,000 or so people would be able to run it.

Thats why PC games has a thing called the options menu where you can change the graphics level to low, medium, high or advanced to match the needs of your pc...

OP: Probably not but hopefully the world will be amazing to make up for it! Its like how GTA IV mods at the highest settings looks so mind blowing that GTA V still cant match even with the next gen upgrade but GTA V is still a better game imo

You mean the 1,000,000+ that have downloaded the highest-setting ENB on Nexus?

It's alright if you don't like PCs. Let's not pretend that there isn't a HUGE high-end PC market though.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Probably not on consoles, but who knows what they can achieve with decent DirectX 11 class hardware.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I remember playing Skyrim on my PS3 and then seeing it on a friends PC with bunch of mods and it was definitely a generation leap. Does make me wonder what next Elder Scrolls will look like and how far mods can push it.

No.  The things modders have done, especially with textures and face/body models, go well beyond what most professionals have the time or drive to build for a game.  The work some of these guys have done is breathtaking.

And I'm totally fine with that.  Sure, I'm biased because I'll only play Bethesda games on a PC, but I absolutely love the symbiosis between the Fallout/Elder Scrolls games and the modding community.  I pray that it continues.

If it's selfish of me, then so be it--even if our console brethern have to suffer through an ugly game, I want to mod up my Elder Scrolls/Fallout experience in all it's PC-centric glory.

No clue but the good thing is that the next The Elder Scrolls game will get mods as well so that it will at least look better with mods as Skyrim does with mods.

I completely agree. Modding is what makes Bethesda games what they are. Solid games by themselves, but the collective modding community is what make them great.

No. They wouldn't even be able to scale down far enough if they put the graphical fidelity that high up. They would essentially have to make a separate game. Not to mention the amount of time and money that would be needed to get it to the level of having the game run all or even most of the graphical mods that dozens upon dozens of individuals and teams created over the years. You're no looking at the entire picture here.

I was one of those 1 million plus, that doesn't mean my computer with it's Saphire Radeon HD 7770 can run it. I could actually reach the recommended specs (which still wouldn't be enough to max everything mind you) if my case could fit my brother's old 660 Ti.
