Forums - Sony Discussion - Shuhei Yoshida: Only Four Out of Ten PlayStation Games Make Money, but Sony Will Always Support Talent

That's bullshit. They just refuse to market their games and then wonder why they're not selling.

They always support talent? Liar! Sony didn't sponsor Bayonetta, and also not a new game from Platinum, like MS and Nintendo both did.

That's a weak argument. Platinum games is already giving itself out to everyone, I don't even think there is room for Sony. They can't get everyone like he said. Where was Nintendo and Microsoft for other good games like what started the Soul series?

4 out of 10 sounds so wrong to me, makes me wanna just say 2 out of 5

love comments like these , they are super funny cause i remenber ps3 had them too in the first year, after a while the people who made vanished. People forgets about 2013,2012 ,2011 etc :)

i like the fact sony does not stick with 3 franchises in a gen

Love comments like these. They assume that I'm attacking when my post has absolutely nothing to do with their precious company.

As a gamer I'm happy because a lot of the games I have weren't hits and I like them... as long as the big projects bring enough money and the non-hitters are good games and don't hinder them I'm happy.

Sure Sony aim to make all games a hit, but their willingness to keep support even if the game doesn't make a lot of money is why I like them and their variety more than Ninty sure hitters been-there-done-that and MS small number of IPs. Both make more sense financially, but I don't share for Sony shares just for them to keep giving us good games and keeping afloat.

The attack on you were silly... altough I understand the 4 in 10 so people can calculate the percentage easier... but they say the same so don't make a difference in the end. Probably the person understood that you said sony haven't done 10 but just 5 games, that is dumb.

Sony did have some problems with their marketing for games in the past, but I hope you realize that throwing a huge marketing budget at something is not an instant solution, some games are just destined to be smaller sellers and increasing their marketing budget could potentially just cause bigger losses.

because people here dont know you right?

My comment had to do with a math pet peeve of mine, if I see a fraction that can be broken down, I want it to be broken down. If I see "3 out of 9 games" I want it to say "1 out of 3"

You assumed I was attacking, just admit you were wrong and just move along.

I always knew Sony wasn't greedy. And they always supported talent since the PS1 days, so many games that could be called indie started back in those days. Very good to know they will put Talent always first and just then the rest.

Yeah, thats one of the reasons why i like them, they always support games that are actually great but they dont promote said games, theres almost no marketing for those games and therefore they dont sell really well... games like Disgaea, Yakuza, The Guided Fate Paradox etc.

its hard to say that this games would sell well with marketing (because of how niche they are), but they are good games that i enjoy and im glad they support them.

Well that's just dumb, in actuality he's the one that's attacking Sony by thinking that's what I meant. lol

Nintendo customer support talent, they buy all the good games released from 3rd parties right?

And he is saying about 1st parties (which if you want to criticize quote the closed studios), useless jab there champ.
