Forums - General - Where do you see VGChartz in 5 years?

Vgchartz are having a tough time right now fighting against the haters for their chartz data.
Ok, we all know that 95% of the current sales are wrongly tracked, but by an error percentage that probably isn't too high.
Infact vgchartz were pretty accurate with the sales announcements of hardware for ps4.
Digital has grown soo much, and in the next 5 years it will continue to grow as console manufacturers will try to get a share of the greater profit margins that companies like valve benefit from with steam.
Will this render vgchartz data too invalid for the majority of people to care? Same with pre order data, sony is now planning to heavily push pre orders through PSN.

So will this site run solely on news & forums. How will it differentiate itself from other news websites that have a more wider coverage of gaming news?
Will the forums be able to keep people coming back to the discussion?
VGChartz is the most accessible forums, you literally need to sign up, post a few times then you can create threads, join in the conversation.
But with the weekly sales data being the big driver in, will people prefer to get their fix of opinions from sites like neogaf and other forum/boards like gamespot.

Good question. ioi doesn't care much for VGC and the tracking for software will get worse. The forum community isn't that large either. So I think the site could close down.

The tracking for PS4 seems to be pretty spot on, everything else though isn't.

Also I agree with BHR-3 I don't see this site still being up in 5 years unless ioi makes some serious updates to encourage more people to keep coming to the site.

bad guesses aside. i always seen this as a nice place sales info is stored and displayed. Its the bias mods that are likely to be the downfall of the forum.

Are we, now?

It is true that the site's raison d'etre will be eroded as digital gains in prominence. That combined with ioi's neglect should likely see the site fade by the end of this generation, i think.

I'll miss y'all when that day comes, though.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Most likely closing down ...

This site really isn't needed anymore and what community it has left is diminishing whether good or bad.

This site truly done for and finished ...

probably not in a very good place.

the sale tracking is awful.

there doesnt seem to be as many tools for things like adding games to your collection, and and rating them (i dont even know if/how you can do that anymore), also cant look into sales history as much. you used to be able to easily see weekly sales for your favorite games.
and many other sale comparison complaints
