It would seem that Microsoft only has one card to left to play this year if they are going to try and stay relevent going into 2015. They have flipped or changed every policy to match or attempt to exceed the PS4. They have now taken the Kinect out of the box. Within a few short weeks, their sales will more than likely return to WiiU levels(pre mario kart). I was thinking for the longest while that with a few new games being released and maybe a good advertising push, they could make a comeback. I also thought that maybe they would start to do more bundling and that would help. But the Titanfall bundle proved to not add up to much either.
To me, they will need great bundles and an actual price cut - not the advertised special of the week. The real question is how much does it need to be to make an impact? If they dropped it $50, surely Sony would consider matching it. They probably need to drop it $100 to make any real difference. They will need to have a $299 basic XB1 including a game packed in, and a $399 premium XB1(maybe even $349) with Kinect and Sports Rivals packed in.
Unlike Sony, Xbox is not a worldwide brand that people care about. Microsoft can't count on 2nd and 3rd tier countries to pick up the slack. We all know that if the XB1 gets too much further behind, it will become completely irrelevent in the general publics mind.
It is near the end of the end....
